An Angel is Born

The character of Angel in X-men has been cast for the third movie of the series, Filmforce reports. There are actually two actors playing the role, one for the child Angel, and one for the adult. This leads me to believe that the role will probrably play a larger role than just a simple cameo. Likely a role in comparison to Rogue in the original, and Nightcrawler in X-men United. Lucas Details TV Series

SciFi Wire Released an article revealing a few more details on George Lucas’ proposed Star Wars TV series. I especially like the details concerning the budget. “We’re going do something that would normally cost [$20 million-$30 million] and try to do it for $1 million.” Hmmm, sounds like it may be more in line with the original movies, where they tried to stretch their dollars. Website Troubles

Sorry for the slight downtime today. An odd thing occured. Suddenly my website stopped handling php and cgi files. Got that fixed, only for them to shut the hosting down because of using too much processing power. Apparently someone or something had setup an hourly cron job that was draining my CPU. Couldn’t tell what it did. It was an echo of sorts. Hopefully it wasn’t useful. I deleted it, and now we’re back.

Cards and Magnets!

Here is a look at the business cards I ordered. When I ordered the cards, they offered magnets too, so I got a bunch of those too. How could I pass up like 50 magnets for $10? Give us some feedback of what you think about all of this.

Subscriptions

I know that some people have been having problems with the RSS feeds and there may even be people that don’t even know what RSS is. I updated the right side of the page to show a few buttons to make subscribing to our site easier. If you have the newest version of iTunes (Mac or PC) then it couldn’t be any easier. Just open up iTunes and click on “Podcasts” on the right side of the screen. Then just drag the button to the list of podcasts and it will automatically subscribe you to it.

Also, if you choose to use your favorite Podcatcher to subscribe, such as iPodder, iPodderX, or Doppler, then you just add the feed http://www.geekshow.us/mp3.xml

See, it couldn’t be any easier, could it? If you want to subscribe to the main page and get updates whenever we make them, then just add the button to your favorite RSS reader. If you have any questions, problems, or requests, send us an e-mail to geekintertainment@gmail.com

Look for OGG and AAC formats of the show soon!

Now Taking Donations

I don’t want to take up too much of your attention or time with this, so this is the last time I will make a post about it. We will likely make a small blurb in each podcast, but nothing else should be posted on the blog. We plan to make this site/Podcast Sponsor free as long as we can. However, this is an exspensive hobby. Already, we have spent over $400 to improve the quality and host the site. If you would like to help us make additional improvements, please donate. We aren’t asking for a lot. Below is our suggested amounts. Any amount(Above $1, so that something is left after paypal takes their cuts) is welcome and SO appreciated.

Recommended:

Monthly: $1 per month

Yearly: $12 per year

Once per Century: $120 (We can dream, right?)

The Equipment is here

Well guys, the new equipment is in, and does it ever sound nice. We recently purchased a new Microphone(MXL990), a new mixer(Behringer UB802), and a new Compressor(Alesis Smashup). Not to mentioned cables, a second Mic, and other assorted goods. After going nearly broke, we are proud to say that the quality of the show will make a giant leap forward. No longer will we be thrown off by hearing our voice echo…

New Look!

After two full days of work (all while at work), the new look is finally implemented. Thanks to Freak_Zombie and Photoshop, the new look is much easier on the eyes and just pleasing to look at. We know of one issue with the site on IE, but if you’re still using that poor excuse for a browser, then clean the spyware off and go download firefox.

I want to say a special thank-you to all the people that have made such a contribution to making this whole thing possible and helping to get the word out. Please keep up the good work and if this is your first time here, please tell others to come and see it.
