Monday, December 8th, 2008
Welcome back for another addition of Two Geeks Commentary.
This time we take some time and watch the first Harry Potter film, in preparation for the Half Blood Prince next summer. Look out for more Harry Potter and more commentaries in the future. Back with us again is Lindsey, and guess what she actually does a little talking this time. Check back soon because we will be having another regular episode in the next couple days.

Awesome guy’s
You guys are really pumping shows out these days. Looking foward to what you have to say about this one.
darn it, i don’t have the dvd for this one
Im an Australia and im pretty sure they say Philosopher’s Stone in the movie.
It’s been intresting listening to Lindsey slowly talk more and more as these shows go on. How far away can we be before Geekshow gets its first female host?
On the agenda, I believe. We are open for suggestions. :P
They do say philosopher’s stone in the UK version, and its also written in the book that Hermione has with her. oh and there are a lot of owls here :/
I have it downloaded, but must get my hands on the DVD so I can listen to it. I hope you guys have listened to the commentary on this movie by Brad Neely. It’s entitled “Wizard People, Dear Reader” and it’s hilarious. You can download the 2-part mp3 at this link:

If you have yet to listen to it, you will be in for a hilarious experience. I was in stitches the whole time.
I couldn’t get the iTunes version of this podcast to work. It would play the episode for a few seconds then cut off and immediately go to episode 85 (on my iPod).
In iTunes, on my computer (PC) it cuts off after a few seconds.
But I downloaded the file from the website and that one works. Just thought you might want to know and I’m curious to see if it’s just me.
It sounds like the download possibly got interrupted. I’m curious to know if you can verify that the size is correct on the file.
Yes Randy, I didn’t even think of looking at the file size. The file size for the iTunes file is only 43k.
good call
Btw guys, I think his name is pronounced Michael Gam-bone with a bit of a Frech accent in the bone, like in Bon Appetite.
:)
Excellent commentary so far, can’t wait to hear more harry commentaries, and I completely agree about the Dumbledore casting, something between Gambon and Harris would’ve been perfect, although I think I liked Harris more than you guys did.
great job
John Williams is indeed a genius.
I forgot to say that although the file size on my hard drive from iTunews said 43k, the time on my iPod, before it cut off said the right time (2:37:00) or whatever.
Anyway, I guess it did get interrupted.
Just listening to your New York accent version hehe. It’s funny how Brits do the Wata (water), leaving off the “r” but add an “r” when saing things like “drawing” (drar-ring?). :)
It’s not like you Brits created the language or anything.
oh wait, never mind. :)
What!? They are dissing Harris as Dumbledore? Am I going to have to listen to this episode?? Harris was a far superior Dumbledore. Neither was perfect, but I can’t stand the “Goofy” Dumbledore that Gambon portrayed. It reminds me of my initial impressions of the book series, and the reason I avoided it so long. All the art made the characters look like a “wacky” kids series.
There was a problem with the original file, however I have since rectified that, so I think that you should be able to get the right file from itunes now.
I love Gambon’s Dumbledore. He reminds me of The Doctor.
@TNN: I can totally see that. I just don’t necessarily picture Dumbledore being like that. Guess that’s the beauty of reading. Sometimes a mental image can be so strong that two people will have two vastly different views of the same character from the same piece of writing.
Yeah, defintely. I remember reading the end of the sixth book, where Dumbledore and HArry are exploring the cave and thinking “this is totally a Doctor/Companion” relationship.
I love you guys and I love the shows, but next time you do a commentary episode, don’t let Ben have Popcorn. Eating Popcorn near a Mic never sounds good. I could only get though like 5 minutes of this one.
