I want comments…
Me too
Well- here you go.
I hope you two are happy. I am going to use my 40% off special Christmas discount tomorrow to buy a handful of Ultimate titles and I will finally start reading Ultimate X-Men, Spiderman, and F4. I’ve been poo pooing them and snobbily staying away for long enough buy now I’m deathly curious. Curse you both.
And, ugh, I just want Secret Invasion to end (Due to Thanksgiving I haven’t gotton yesterdays issues or last Wed’s stuff yet) and things to get going again. I feel like I’m missing something with it and I just want the answers more than anything now.
Do you guys read any of the Dabel Bros stuff Marvel puts out? I was reading Anita Blake for awhile but I kinda just stopped for no real reason. It was (at the beginning) much better than how boring the books have become.
And is anyone reading non-Neil Gaiman Eternals? Because I’m deathly curious if it’s any good, but don’t want to buy it without a word of goodwill towards it from someone.
I’m glad you’re going to try out the Ultimate U! Definitely start with Spidey and the Ultimates. X-Men and F4 are both good, but not nearly as good as the other two.
Secret Invasion is finally over and while I’m sure Ben and I will talk about it at length on the show, I’ll just say that this issue itself actually kind of sucked. The outcome at the end of the issue, however, was pretty awesome. I’m really looking forward to where they go with Dark Reign.
I haven’t read anything by the Dabel Bros… nor am I reading Eternals. I read the first couple issues of the mini that came out before the ongoing started up and I wasn’t impressed, so I didn’t feel the need to continue. But of course, I’ve never read the original Eternals, so I had no idea what was going on.
I’m a Neil Gaiman junkie/fangirl (Sandman is what got me to start re-reading comics-I’d stopped when I was about 13 and re-picked them up when I was 18 when a friend I met in college kept carrying on about it and let me borrow the first trade) so I got every issue religiously, lol. It wasn’t on par with most of his other work, but it got much better towards the end.
And I got my books this afternoon for this week as well as last week today and am almost through the massive pile. (God, when did I start reading so many series? I feel like there was a time when I was only reading 1 or two… it’s like CRACK I tells you!) But I’m done with Secret Invasion now.
I’ll withhold about that until you post for the next month in case spoilers and the whatnot. But I WAS surprised by the end.
LOL, I am FINALLY getting my roommate to read a comic book. I brought home the new Sherilyn Kenyon thing Marvel’s doing and she practically passed out in joy. She’s been harping on me to read it so she can read it herself ever since I got home from work today, lol.
It was good reading about the new runaways, I’m 2 issues behind while im not LOVING the artwork, (although it is growing on me) I amenjoying the story better than before.
I just don’t know if I can ever be really happy with Runaways with out BKV and Alphona on the book.
Its hard to be happy with anything without BKV if he started it, could you imagine if Y the last man had finnished without him?
Sometimes I just wish that he had just ended Runaways when he decided to leave the book.
