LOL, thank you BTW for getting my joke with my gravatar image. It made it all worthwhile. ;-)
The error was corrected in the GbN panel discussion, so my normal icon will resume unless my gender becomes an issue of confusion again (or I find a better avatar).
It shouldn’t be a huge surprise – but my celeb is Joss Whedon, and I would have him just come sit and talk with me (’cuz the guy is hilarious to talk to).
Be sure to let me and Will know what you thought of our special guest hosts! I wanna know if they’re welcome to be on again should one of us be unable to record
I really missed Will, but they were fun.
1) For my celeb, I’d probably choose Richard Dawkins to come read me a selection from his books.
2) I thought the guests hosts were all good but I think limiting the total # of hosts to three might be a good idea (I am not saying that Cole was bad) but rather indicating in my mind their were two many voices going on, that I couldn’t tell apart from each other.
Nice choice Hayden. Good to see a fellow Dawkins fan. I’d pick Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens (at least there’d be booze, hehe).
I’d also suggest reading some Sam Harris, great skeptic and science advocate.
These guys get me back to reality after watching things like Supernatural. :)
Sam Harris is frakkin’ awesome!
Hayden if you like R. Dawkins then I’d recommend Emmergence by Stephen Berlin Johnson. Everyone I’ve recommend it too has loved it.
I’ll keep it in mind.
I don’t know what celebrity I’d like to meet (Werner Herzog I guess, although I don’t know what we’d talk about)
But if I were one of those Make A Wish kids I’d want Damon Lindeloff and Carlton Cuse to come to my house and tell me how lost ends. I bet they’d tell me too. How are you gonna refuse the last wish of some dying kid.
Dude, I love Steven Johnson! I read “Everything Bad is Good For You” like three times
I’ve only read Emmergence and Ghost Map. I can’t recommend them enough. I recently saw him speak at Powells (it’s a book store) promoting his new book The Invention of Air, which I read the first few pages of.
I think he’s the greatest living writer of popular science. The context in which he places new ideas and the depths which he’s able to illuminate their implications leaves my mind in a consistent state of being blown. It’s a feeling similar to what I imagine a theist experiences during some religious experience.
I thought it was sweet that you guys didn’t know High Life was a kind of beer that has icky frat boy associations. (As in Miller High Life)
And I’d make Stevie Knicks do a private show for me and my friends as my dying wish. Oh, and make Ronald Moore tell me how Battlestar ends.
If I was going to die I would have Kristen Bell come to my hospital bed and pretend that she loved me and she’d say how she’d never love any other man but me and then she’d kiss me on the mouth and then I’d try to make out with her and she’d get pissed off and be like.”this wasn’t part of the deal!” and then she’d storm off. awesome…
and yes John is cool…
Maja!
This is almost certaintly why Make A Wish Foundation limits their applicants to children.
Otherwise it would just be sweaty guys in hospital beds saying “I want to have sex with _____”
I think there is an adult version of Make a Wish, but I’m sure sexual requests aren’t given. :)
correction: Tony Stark is a douchebag… I hate the registration act…
Jacob says he hates the Registration Act as well
Heh, my nephew is named Jude. I’m pushing for a niece named Julia.
Entertaining, but a tad bit hard to keep track of the different conversations (then again it’s probably my feeble hearing;)). I’ll have to share my celeb idea another time. Looking forward to the next show.
James Marsters… cat.
’nuff said.
HA, no that’s JAMES’ (not Marsters) wish!
It totally doesn’t bother me, but you guys might wanna take the “Clean” rating off of your podcast. This one definitely wasn’t :)
(I’m not trying to start something, at all – I just felt like some people might be a little off-putted [pretend that's a word] by the clean rating that isn’t…)
Loving the show, though, guys! :)
wait, we cursed in this episode?
Maybe it was just Cole *g*.
Yeah, sorry. That’s just sorta how we talk, haha
Yeah, that was a bit of my fault, i wanted to edit it out, but then it would’ve seemed strange when Cole just walked in, but in all other cases I try to cut out the words. Sorry, I don’t expect this to happen again.
I’m not sure how easy it is with your set up – but you can label some episodes explicit if it does happen again.
Or just blanket change it to explicit – a lot of people will get really miffed if it isn’t labeled (not me, but other people)
Oh, I don’t mean to sound offended, but like Tabz said below, some people are bothered by the differing label. I have too many friends with kids who rail about stuff. I’ll hush :)
Ah, my mistake. I tend to be a very defensive person….
I’ve seen podcasters REAMED (publicly) for one f-bomb. So yeah- Crystal is just trying to be nice and warn you that there are crazy people out there.
I do
