*NUDGE NUDGE Scott* Haha j/k
This is the final episode we recorded before Scott invited us to Geekshow.
But we do have the next one done as well. just editing it…
@Prettz: I think you missed the part where Scott and Ben just put out three episodes of True Believers in 3 days :)
@ Saberj
No I didnt, I was just busting chop’s, hope nobody was offended.
With the amount of show’s and content put out on this website, im always extreamly impressed with all parties.
It’s an interesting social experiment in a way. I’ve often wondered just how much a part of the 90’s one has to be to truly get Buffy. I was in 8th grade when it premiered, and it was totes the epitome of that year. When I watch it now me and my roomate start cooing (and sometimes recoiling) over the clothes/hair/jewelery choices (OMG, she wore, like, 7 of those chunky rings. Anyone else remember when chunky rings on, like, every finger was a ‘thing’? And the bra straps! It was soooo chic in those days to have your bra strap showing.) It’s interesting to hear what someone who doesn’t have those cultural identifiers thinks. Plus, lol, all the bands they had in the early days were soooo cool. I fancied myself into indie rock in those days and still love all those songs and bands.
Anyway, it was a fun show fellas, a lot of the rougher stuff seemed smoothed out. Cools :P
And I’m so sorry about your play! I remember in 9th that happened to the guy playing Emily’s dad in Our Town about two weeks before we opened, he had a D in something or other and he got yanked out. It always bothered me when the school did that, it’s not like the sports teams, without one player they can still play, but without one actor your punishing everyone else in the show. Also, taking away an extracurricular you care about a lot is never the solution to a poor grade. I hope that you can still do another one next year or something.
Yeah, I dig the 90’s references. Thanks for the sympathy Sunshineyness! :)
oddly enough I do have a few connections to help get you an early print of Harry Potter, 3 of my friends are actrors in it with semi important roles and my best friend is a PA.
@Jack and TNN: Third party member got!
Unfortunately I’m already in the UK, so I can’t join you across the sea
Oh wow… I just watched the American Girl trailer. What HAPPENED to that company? When I was a kid they just made historical overpriced dolls (the ultimate status symbol among 10 year old girls.) Popular girls liked Samantha, nerdy girls liked Molly, and weird girls who liked to read weird books liked Kirsten. And why does even the “loser” girl have perfectly groomed hair and clothes that even *I* cant afford/do? That’s always the annoying thing to me in movies like this. I never buy that the girl who’s being picked on wouldn’t be on the other side of the fence. And what parent in their right mind would LET their fifth grader out of the house dressed like she’s 16??? Hell, my mother wouldn’t let me dress like that when I *WAS* 16 (Though to be fair, the style at the time was not at all like that)
That isn’t even remotely what bullying in the fifth grade is like. That’s HS girl bullying- movie style at least. (Mean Girls, IMO is not realistic. At least in my HS boys were way meaner to the girls than the girls were to each other)
Dude, if you want to know what bullying with girls at that age is like- watch Welcome to the Dollhouse. PERFECT in every painful, horrible way.
Ugh, girls don’t even want the historical dolls they made anymore. They only buy the new American Girl stuff which is basically just like this movie- fake early teenagedom. They have a book on dealing with friendship troubles that this seems based on.
I’m glad we’re speaking to the spurned teenage girl audience
*snort* You most definitely are.
So, is anyone else having problems getting this from itunes? I was able to get the first one but now it says it cant find it?
Nice ep guys. I really enjoyed your discussion about James Bond. I’m currently watching all the Bond films in order before seeing Quantum of Solace with my boyfriend because much like Nick with Buffy, up until recently I had never seen a Bond film in its entirety, just vague snippets of Pierce Brosnan and things blowing up in the background of him.
@Sunshineyness I agree about the American Girl of the Year trailer. It looks like just Mean Girls – The Tween Years. I really hate that childhood is being slowly disintegrated and ambushed by teenagehood. Kids need to be kids for a while.
Hayley, let me know what’s your favorite bond movie….and have you seen From Russia with Love yet?
You guys are hilarious btw. I’m enjoying the show a lot, nice addition to the Geekshow lineup.
It was nice to hear some classic Bond love. I loved Casino Royale and liked Quantum a lot, but nothing beats From Russia with Love and Goldfinger imho. Hopefully Bond 23 will have some gadgets, classic lines and better Bond girls (or Bond girls period).
I also empathize with your algebra woes. I’m terrible at math and had a doozy of a time getting through algebra 2 (luckily I had a great teacher who was patient, hehe).
Who needs numbers mixed with letters anyway?
Hey, we don’t mention this in the next couple of episodes, but if you guys could leave us some iTunes reviews, that would be amazing :)
Totally true on the Buffy commentaries! I remember watching something in season 4 and getting spoiled for season 6. Its annoying. Interesting show fellas! Looking forward to checking out some others…
