The last couple of years have had their fair share of great games, and this year doesn’t appear to be any different. Out of all the games slated to come out in 2009, which ones made it onto my list?

I'm looking for some older posts that could benefit from being resurrected on the forums, and this is one of the first ones that came to mind. If anyone has anything to say about 2009's video games, we can continue discussing it here.

Dragon Age.

It doesn’t need to be as good as Baldur’s Gate, but I am hoping that it will have its spirit.

Dragon age looks great but the game I’m really looking forward to is Overlord II especially since they’ve got Rhianna Pratchett back to write it

Halo 3: ODST is by far my most anticipated game of the year, actually. I've gotten several hundred hours out of Halo 3. So for a game to come along, add more maps to the multiplayer, and add in an expansion setting (Hopefully for an expansion price), that's great stuff for me.
I'll wait for Dragon Age to come to the consoles. The only games I'm interested in playing on the PC, are RTS games. Starcraft II FTMFW. Though, I'm also going to buy and likely enjoy Diablo 3. I'm also hugely anticipating Modern Combat 2.

Because of my new job, I've been really getting into video games lately…
I think I'm mostly looking forward to Batman: Arkham Asylum and Ghostbusters.I know, they're both movie games, but they really do look phenomenal.
I'm also really looking forward to Bioshock 2, but it's so far away that it almost doesn't feel real.
Resident Evil 5 coming out next week is going to be alot of fun as well. Especially with the new co-op gameplay. That's just awesome.
Does The Old Republic come out this year? That will be the first MMO I will ever play.
DCU Online will be the second. It will also be the reason I finally break down and buy a PS3.
I'm also really liking what I've seen from this game Prototype. Not sure if it will be good or not, but I'll be giving it a shot for sure.

Because I like consoles better than PCs? I don't have $1-2k to spend upgrading my computer every year. I love Live, and it's community. All of my friends have 360s except one or two. I love playing on a controller. I love playing on my 42″ HDTV. Everything about gaming is better on consoles for me. In fact, if I could play an RTS on a console and still have it be the same depth (IE – Use a mouse and keyboard), then I would in a heartbeat.

I just don’t get the whole console thing.
You want your computer screen to be your big screen HDTV? Great. Just hook up the PC.
Online gaming is also available on PC. Don’t know about controllers, but there must be a way to hook something to a PC besides a mouse and keyboard.
Now for the money issue. The way I see it, I already have a PC. Getting a console (and often people have more than one) costs a lot of money. I pay less than that to keep my PC up to date.
What I see a lot, is people who try to keep their PC at a level of a super machine, and I agree, that would cost at least 1-2k a year. But keeping your PC at a level that is about a year ahead of the latest game costs much less.
In my opinion, the main advantage of consoles is their user friendly plug and play nature. This advantage becomes irrelevant when you have at least a basic technical understanding (which you obviously have Randy).
On the other hand, my problem with them is that they needlessly divide the gaming market.

I like both PC-based games and console-based games, but my time is spent mostly on consoles nowadays. I used to be flip-flopped in that I spent a ton of time playing games on the computer. However, a combination of things has caused me to gravitate towards consoles now. Having to keep my computer up to date (not too difficult, but somewhat annoying nonetheless), a PC that became more and more wonky with every passing day, and stupid copy protection schemes that make games harder to install and use for actual paying customers rather than deterring pirates all came together to make PC gaming more of a hassle for me.
I still check out a few PC games from time to time. Spore was pretty fun for a while (mostly the creature editor), and I'm looking forward to Starcraft 2 and the new Diablo game. If I had unlimited amounts of time, I'd probably jump on the WoW bandwagon, but I don't really have the time to sink into that game, so I've pretty much avoided it to this point.
