Did you guys see the Big sister for Bioshock 2? What are your thoughts on it?

I think that it will probably be a Little Sister that returns to Rapture. I was assuming that would be the plot of the game anyway, but I had been hoping that you would actually play as a “Big” Sister. Now it looks like it will be replacing, or be in addition to the Big Daddies instead.
Definitely interesting. I can see them being very fast, which is slightly annoying. I think the game worked at it's best when fighting slow heavy things, rather than the bouncy splicers. I like the design, but I'm not sold on the head. Looks too weird. But the Little Sister basket is awesome.

I can't wait for this game. I think that looks awesome.

I'm slowly making my way through the first game (due to bouncing between several titles at the moment), but I already can't wait for the sequel.

I just read a little blurb on Joystiq saying that the Game Informer article mentions Bioshock 2 will have multiplayer. If they pick the modes right, that could be a great addition to the game. Personally, I like Joystiq's suggestion of a “Big Daddy” mode where one player is a BD, and everyone else tries to take him down. I also liked their suggestion of a “Little Sister Convoy” mode where one team is escorting a Little Sister while another team tries to capture her..

W….T…..F…..
Apparently, you will be a Big Daddy in Single player, too.

More details have emerged on 2K Marin's big sequel, BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams, according to a cover story in issue 192 of Game Informer. The game is set in Rapture after the events of the first BioShock. It seems after the protagonist from the first game took off with all the Little Sisters, the city panicked, at least until a Big Sister came along to quiet things down try to return things to normal, or at least normal by Rapture standards. According to the article, you'll play as a Big Daddy in this reinvigorated underwater society.
Apparently the Big Sister was actually a Little Sister at one point, and the Big Daddy you play as, which BioShock 2 creative director Jordan Thomas describes as the 'first ever,' is an outlaw. The article points out that even though players were able to don the equipment of a Big Daddy toward the end of the first game, the full range of the beings' abilities weren't taken advantage of. In BioShock 2, instead of a wrench, you'll get a drill arm which can be used to whack splicers, who'll still serve as your enemies. It can also be turned on, though the time it can spin will be limited by an overheat meter.
There is more in that article as well. God, that could be really horrible, or really fun. It definitely isn't the same game, either way.

I like'd the powers and the way they were handled in the first game. Hopefully they will do something similar in the second. It could be fun but without the powers it will be a totally different game.

The article goes on to mention that it's a prototype Big Daddy, and that it can use plasmids. IT also mentions that you will be able to combine plasmids to make things like an Incinerate storm. Or a charged fireball.

Sweet, so it's not going to be a completely different game. This also reninds me that I still have to beat the first game.

Hmmm….I do like the fact that they aren't just trying to rehash the first game. I think it's cool that they are trying something different. I'm definitely a little skeptical about it, but I'll still hope for the best.

I read the full article in Game Informer and I loved the idea.
I really dig the option to harvest or adopt the Little Sisters. When you adopt them, they hop up on your back and jump down when you find a corpse so that they can extract the adam from its body. Then you have to protect your little sister while splicers attack. But you'll be able to set traps and whatnot to take care of a lot of them.
I just think it sounds really cool. Much cooler than the rumored Cold War plot line that Randy brought up on Geekin'.
Also, I'm fairly positive that the subtitle “Sea of Dreams” has been dropped.

Looks like “Sea of Dreams” was not dropped from the title.
You can forget those reports from last week that explicitly stated “You won't be seeing ‘Sea of Dreams' moving forward, just ‘BioShock 2“. Just forget all about them. 2K didn't really mean it, and have today stated that the game will still be called “Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams”.

I kind of like the “Sea of Dreams” subtitle, but I wouldn't have missed it if it were gone. In the end, it's just a title, and has little to do with how much I'll enjoy the game. They could call it “Bioshock 2: Shock Harder” for all I care, as long as the game itself is fun.
