Compressed Air Woes

Does anyone here still use compressed air to clean their keyboards with? I haven't bought a can of compressed air since they started adding bitterants to them. I learned my lesson with that real quick. Two times cleaning off my keyboard, and I was done.

I'm curious if people still use that crap. I tried googling the issue today to see if it was possible to get bitterant free compressed air, but every seller of the product touts bitterant as if it's this huge feature, “Contains Bitterant!” Oh yay! So now if I'm using the product legitimately, I'm screwed.

What's next? Cars that shock you whenever you go over the speed limit? Fatty foods that you can't keep down?

I really hope the compressed air business plummets  to the point where it is no long economically possible to make the product. My question is, is there a law forcing the use of this substance? Or is it a unified attempt to rid themselves of the lawsuits from people that die from huffing the cans?

Ummm….nope.  I just haven't used compressed air in years….since high school at least.

This is my awesome signature…please don’t step on it.

Most useful thing ever created. But maybe that's because everything in my apartment stays dusty. But If I have to have a bitter taste in my mouth because I cleaned off my keyboard, then it's totally not worth it.

The studio where I work is in an old converted duplex (we use the entire house, both sides) that was built at least 80 years ago, if not much longer.  It's almost not worth celaning off the glass top on my desk as it will literally be just as dusty as it was before cleaning in a matter of a few hours.  If I clean it at the beginning of the day, you can't even tell by the time I go home.

The only thing compressed air would do is kick up a bunch more dust into the air.

This is my awesome signature…please don’t step on it.

I still use compressed air from time to time, especially when I've broken open an old computer that you just know hasn't been opened since the factory hermetially sealed it. I've never had much of a problem with bitterant but I also don't see why the company's are so proud of the fact that there product contains it. More research may be required.
