The lower division teams and basketball teams have no problem with a playoffs. They are all full of crap.

Still being in college, I have to say that college football pisses me off since they do not have a playoff (BCS is just a huge money grab for universities). That and the NFL rule of having to be 3 years removed from high school graduation to enter the draft is borderline illegal. That being said, I love football too much to look away.
Like you I agree that a playoff system makes more sense, however I'm just a little tired of everyone complaining about it. The NCAA knows that the system is broken, and they will fix it, but you're right it does make the schools a lot of money. So why would they want to give that up? Beyond that I'm not to worried about it because I'm a huge Big Ten fan and for some reason the BCS seems to like us, since we have the most BCS appearances with 19.
As for the 3 year rule, I think that is one of the best things in college sports. These athletes are going to school, and they always preach that studies should be their first priority. If it were up to me they would have to stay for their full 4 years no matter what. That's one reason I really like Matt Painter at Purdue, he doesn't recruit players unless they are going to go to school for 4 years, none of these one and done players.

Well, the SEC probably has the most to gain from a non-playoff system. They are almost always in the championship game. Though the argument could be made that they could often have two teams in the championship game if not for the lack of a playoff system. Still, playoffs would just be a lot more fun. To me, bowls are useless. Unless you are playing in that championship game, what is even the point of coming so close but ultimately going home as the 4th best team without a chance to prove yourself?
In any case, I can't see the NCAA fixing the system anytime soon. They seem content to ride it out as long as possible.

The only sport I'm into is the NFL. I just got into it 2 years ago, but I've really diven head first into my fandom. Being a Hoosier, I'm a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts.

Shhh….Don't tell anyone that. But really, it's just Ohio State and then whoever did well that year…

Or if USC would stop playing a home game bowl (AKA the Rose Bowl)

Billy Gillispie should turn that team around.
To Quote Emily Litella, “Nevermind.”

The media is going to rip us over this. They keep making it sounds like it had a lot to do with wins/losses along with fan outrage. The fans actually aren't that negative. It's about 50/50, whereas it was much worse with Tubby. Likewise, we are hearing that there were a ton of behind the scene issues that caused this issue, and had nothing to do with our record.
Hopefully we are able to rebound and not lose our recruits. If Travis Ford comes here, there are going to be a lot of people calling for our AD's job. He is a Kentucky boy, but he has a temper and attitude like Gillispie, without the proven record.
You should see all the message boards we have. One of them alone had 28,000 people logged on yesterday. Kentucky Fans track this stuff like no other. So we've had days and days of “It's Donovan! No, it's Ford! God I want Calipari! Tom Izzon is on his way!”. It's a centrifuge of information, and most of it is wrong or was changing fast. We have no idea what's going to happen right now, and nobody trusts the AD to make the right decisions.

Well now that nightmare is over for ya, Randy, what do you think? I like Calipari, he might be good for the job.

What a long freaking week. That's what I think. It has been so up and down here for the last few days it is crazy.
I think UK fans will always be a bit timid about the potential for another mess involving recruiting issues. However, if he's as clean as some people say he is, then everything else looks absolutely golden here.
He has everything he needs to be successful here. He knows to reach out to former UK players and coaches. He has the recruiting prowess, a fun and interesting play style, he has a way with the media, and he knows how to excite fans. There isn't really anything to not love. He's basically a coach in the exact same mold as Pitino, who to this day is still a celebrity here, despite becoming the coach of a heated in-state rival.
Plus, the fact that he has negative history with Pitino and Pearl from Tennessee makes the whole situation all the more interesting here. We love our rivalry games. We especially love to have the bragging rights in those games. Next year, it's on. :)
