Scott and Ben talked about how season 8 has turned the show around, so I gave it another chance. I recently watched all 14 episodes that have aired.

What do you guys think about chloe’s Brainiac arc? and Doomsday? Clark and Lois? Clark and super Lana? Oliver? Lex?

I know we have talked about it on the show, but I just want to reitierate how much I have enjoyed this season. Not only was the Legion and Doomsday handled very well, but so were all the other things this season, Toyman was really good and even Lana was alright.

My one complaint… not enough Lois!

We had plenty of Lois, but then she seemed to disappear as soon as Lana showed up. I guess Clark and the writers are the same – they think about Lana and suddenly Lois doesn’t exist.

Chloe's Brainiac arc was handled really really well, and Alison Mack played Brainiac perfectly in Legion. I was really impressed.

Doomsday has also been great. Never in a million years would I have thought that Smallville could have pulled off a character that they can barely pull off in comics. But they did. I don't think Doomsday has ever been this interesting.

Clark and Lois has been a long time coming. I'm really excited to see them finally get together. I also think that Welling and Durance's on screen chemestry has been getting better and better since their frst appearance together in season 4.

Lana's return was something that I was dreading, but again, the new showrunners surprised me. I have never liked Lana's character, but I found myself enjoying her final run quite a bit. No, Lana never got super powers in the comics, but for some reason, it didnt' bother me at all. I was just along for the ride. It really was a bittersweet ending for Clark and Lana. I really enjoyed it. Other than of course, the severe lack of Lois.

I was so excited about Oliver Queen becoming a main stay on the show this season, but I think that his was the only ball that the new showrunners couldn't keep track of. His character his been completely wasted this season. All leading up to his supposed murdering of Lex Luthor which made absolutely ZERO sense to me. I just didn't really understand his motivation and I found it completely out of character. Which brings me to…

Lex. Is he really dead? I seriously doubt it. But the new showrunners should have just let the character leave the show when Rosenbaum left. They had no business “wrapping up” the character without the actor that's played him for 7 years. Just really kind of lame.

I really loved everything up until Lana’s return. Why would they do that? They have to know by now that their audience is sick of her merry-go-round with Clark. The web is divided into Lana haters and people who don’t mind her too badly, but the Lana lovers have become a very small minority, so I don’t understand why they’d go out of their way to get her back after she quit the show.
As for me, I spent enire seasons watching her whine, being the damsel in distress, and turning Clark into an idiot with her very presence. Then they ran out of things to do with her, so they tried to turn her into some kind of ninja, and now she comes back from the Batman training camp to steal a super power suit. They should add a button on the TV remote that slaps the writers when you click it. Maybe then they’d listen.

And it only made me so angry because Brainiac and Doomsday really were good.

BTW, about Lois, it will feel really weird if they finally hook up now. He just had his heart ripped out. Again. My guess is things between Lois and Clark will go back to the status quo.

I liked episode 15 (Infamous), but it could have been so much better…

Why would he destroy the ring? He can just choose to not use it, but keep it as a last resort. Why would he time travel when Lois obviously has something very important to say? Why would he blow off Lois? He decided not to tell her, but they can date without her knowing. does this mean he’s decided to be celibate?

And while I’m asking questions – Why can’t they just let him be superman? Why can’t a show about superman’s youth have a last season of him in the tights? The showrunners have changed…

But I do like Doomsday. And I LOVED the scene where he told Lois everything (Enev though it was obvious that she’d forget).

From a writers standpoint you don't want to have the ring laying around. If superman can just time travel his way out of every problem then there's not much at stake.

I guess the writers could've thought ahead a little more and put a “one time only” rule on the ring. But… what're ya gonna do.

This is the first season of Smallville I've ever watched. I've enjoyed it overall.

So that last episode totally blew… but then the last few seconds of it totally redeemed it.

I know, Watchtower! I have been waiting for that since JUSTICE. Just awesome.

I have been enjoying this season. The last episode was kind of blah, but the previews for next week look great. I was super excited when the Green Arrow was put on as a series regular this season, but they haven't done anything with his character. It's so depressing for me since I love the GA.

As for Clark and Lois, I really love their chemistry, but what I don't want is for it to turn into a Clark and Lana merry-go-round. Clark tells Lois about himself, then he changes what happened. He wants Lois, but won't follow through to “protect” her. It's all getting way too familiar.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually liked the Naman and Sageeth story in this new incarnation, especially thanks to Tess. She came to Clark calling him our messiah, while he was really annoying with his regular “I don’t know what you’re talking about” routine. I loved how she told him off: “If this is the way that you lied to Lex, then I can see how it pushed him over the edge”. So true. I love that woman.

My main issue with the episode was how easily they thought they had killed this creature from krypton that was sent to kill Clark. Did they just pour Kryptonyte on him and leave? What if it had killed him? did they just plan to leave his body there?

And what the hell was the blue thing in Tess’ suitcase? Haven’t we had enough mystery crystals?

It’s been awesome seeing them slowly add other characters from the DC universe. I stopped watching for a couple of seasons but they started to turn it around with season 5. Now I’m wondering when a certain Master Bruce will make an appearance.

I will say it- Doomsday has been REALLY well done. I don't know if it's the actor or the writing or a combination of both- but his character has broken my heart over and over again and has been just so beautifully tragic I actually cried during the latest episode for him (nitpicks about the ending aside).

I have to say- I hope nothing but the best for that actor, he has been doing a stand-out job.

Didn't you watch last season, that is the crystal that Lex found that is supposed to be able to destroy Clark. Lex had it in the fortress at the end of last season, but we haven't seen it since then. It's what the whole end of last season was about.
