Did anyone have that movie they watched all the time as kids but it seems that time hasn’t given it the respect it deserves?

The movie that I watched the most as a kid, was the Star Wars trilogy. I spent two summers of my childhood watching all 3 everyday, at my grandparents house. I used to be so annoying because I used to quote to movie in every conversation.

The movie that I think doesn't get enough respect is The Hobbit, cartoon movie. Which I have always loved even before I read the book for the first time.

I agree.  While the Hobbit cartoon isn't perfect, it's got so much cool stuff going for it.  The creature design is great, especially Gollum and Smaug the dragon.  Apart from the annoying main theme, the songs are actually pretty good.  The story is a bit rushed, but then again it is a kid's cartoon, so it is to be expected.

Yeah, the LOTR cartoon and the ROTK cartoon pretty much suck.

I've been trying to remember what movies I watched a lot as a kid.  Most of them don't qualify as a “forgotten classic”.  I probably watched my VHS copies of Star Wars the most, followed closely by The Princess Bride.  I know that there were a bunch of other movies that I watched, but specifics aren't coming to mind.

……………..

Hold on, I do  remember seeing a ton of old Disney movies like Mary Poppins, The Love Bug, Blackbeard's Ghost, etc.

I'm a fan of Patrick Stewart. Does that count?

For me it was The Muppets Take Manhattan. It is not really forgotten, just has not been seen since I was a child.

As for the lesser picked nostalgia choices… We used to rent The Wizard and Freaky Friaday (original with Jodie Foster) a lot as kids. Newsies, Clash of the Titans, and Grease 2 were beloved. Also loved Iron Will and Hook. The Sandlot too! Oh man, got to see that one in this awesome little one screener with three of my best firends on my birthday that year.

Although, generally I was not really allowed to go to the video store. Chances were if I did I'd come back with Raiders of the Lost Ark or Back to the Future and when I was older Evil Dead. :P

A film I watched a lot when I was younger ( a long time ago ) was 'The Seven Faces of Dr Lao'. It came out in 1964, but I had a video copy in the 80's that I watched all the time. I loved that movie, it was really atmospheric and next to the Star Wars & Indy films was the one video tape that I nearly wore out.

How could I forget Camp Nowhere?! SUCH a silly fun kid's movie. I think I watched it purely for Christopher Lloyd at the time because at that age he was nothing more to me than Doc Brown. (Also Biff has a small part in the movie too) :P I was floored when I realized a very young Alison Mack (Chloe from Smallville) Andrew Keegan (the awesome bad guy in 10 Things I Hate About You) and Jonathan Jackson (now guest on T:SCC as Kyle Reese) were in it!

Another great one that came on Sunday Afternoon Movies was Big Girls Don't Cry… They Get Even. Just found out the guy who played the cool older brother wrote Capote
