Where is a good place to begin (from absolutely no knowledge) with Deadpool comics?

The first volume of his self titled is pretty good for a starting point. Though some of his jokes are dated and the art is pretty decent, it gives you a pretty good picture of who he is. The Cable/Deadpool run is another nice place, but does require a bit of background knowledge of the X-men stuff and some minor deadpool stories you can pick up on easily. His current volume right now is fantastic. If you're reading current Marvel books and don't feel like reading his past stuff, then this new volume is great.

Deadpool is by far my favorite Marvel character. Insane, crazy, at times deep, and deadly. Oh and really funny.
