Geekshow

Another recent choice of anime. I absolutely love this series. For one, the characters are fantastic. Very well thought out. Avoids falling into many of the stereotypes you see in anime. Also, the art in the series is gorgeous. It mixes CGI with traditional animation, and that doesn't always work. Sometimes it ends up looking like Beast Wars/Reboot animation, which wasn't the sharpest in the world. But even so, everything looked really well done. Every faction in the show had distinct looks to them, so that you could tell who they were, just by their uniforms.

The setting was unique to me. A mostly steam-powered world that relied heavily on air ships, planes, and riflemen to fight their wars. Often, all three at once. The battles felt kind of like something you would see in space, ala Battlestar Galactica. But it was obviously not in space.

Definitely recommending this one as well. I haven't finished however. I'm only on episode 17. The copy I had started messing up at that point. So I haven't gotten to finish it yet.
