Project Natal officially Kinect for Xbox 360; New Console Form

Fresh from the Cirque du Soleil event tonight, the new name of Project Natal is Kinect (For Xbox 360). Also hitting the rumor rounds tonight is a new 360 form factor. The Xbox 360 Slim is shown in Italian advertisements (Which also leaked the Kinect name). 250 gigs, wifi included. E3 kicks off at 1:30 EST on June 14th. Only 12 hours to go!

I don’t much like the name
I actually do like the name. Natal was okay for a code name, but it didn’t really have much of a meaning for an actual product. The rumored Wave name was way too generic as well. Kinect is a little silly, but it’s the right kind of silly if you ask me. There’ may be a some better names out there, but there are certainly a ton of worse names they could have come up with.
Kinect will be spelled wrong constantly. Natal was pronounced wrong constantly. It will take a long time to get used to calling it Kinect, but I think I like it better. Definitely a better change than Revolution -> Wii.
Microsoft’s presentation was great. Though none of the first party Kinect games sold me the third party games made up for that. As someone who spent years dancing the dance game harmonix is putting out grabbed me instantly. While the briefing was a little too Kinect heavy, it didn’t take me away from the great announcements that were put out.
