We’re back this week with a fresh stock of trailers, including a new documentary I’m sure you’re all going to love.
Some exciting trailers this week, make sure to leave any thoughts or comments below in the appropriate comment section, and we’ll be back next week same trailer time, same trailer station.
Exhibit A Pictures has released the first first teaser trailer for The People vs. George Lucas, a documentary that “delves into the impassioned feelings and opinions expressed by fans and foes of legendary screen icon George Lucas, and the many debates surrounding his legacy.
Inglourious Basterds begins in German-occupied France, where Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema. Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as “The Basterds,” Raine’s squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own.
Her name was Alisa, she lived by the sea. Her life was pretty ordinary. She dreamed about the ballet, sang in a children’s choir and studied at a school for the mentally challenged. At the age of six she stopped speaking. At 17 she moved to Moscow and at exactly 18 she met Him…. and disappeared. That sort of thing happens all the time in the big city.
Warner Premiere has released a movie trailer for the animated direct-to-DVD adaptation of the comic book within the story of Watchmen – Tales of the Black Freighter.

The People vs. George Lucas: Doesnt appeal to me, but thats probly because iv never understood star wars….. i tried to watch them again recently and fell asleep :S just not my thing.
Inglourious Basterds: Well………….it looks like Tarantino. Haha i’ll be there.
Marmaid: ………………… I really dont know what to say about this one. Looks……………. intresting. I’ll probly see it out of pure curiosity.
Tales of the Black Freighter: This really bugged me when reading watchmen, i always found it interupting and hard to read. I get why its there…it just never seemed nessassary.
Inglorious Basterds. Yes. Oh Yes. I will SO be there.
Inglorious Basterds looks insane, I can’t wait.
As for Mermaid, I have a feeling that its actually a really great film, its just too different to really promote it through a trailer.
It’s difficult for me not to worry Tarantino’s weird cast for Inglorious Basterds.
Is it a weird cast? They look like actual World War II Jewish soldiers
Yeah, that’s a good point.
When Tarantino first started talking about this script his casting ideas were Schwartzeneger, Stallone maybe Dolph Lungren or something…
Then he ends up casting BJ Novak and the little shit from Freaks and Geeks. I still can’t believe he cast that guy. Plus, if I’m not mistaken Mike Meyers is in the film.
Tarantino has always had a genius for casting but in this instance I just can’t see it.
His casting of IG so far has reminded of nothing so much as Richard Kelly’s Southland Tales.
Of course that should be IB
Speaking of thread jacking…

discuss.
Random comment for this thread but i’ll bite.
I really doupt superheroes will ever go away untill people can start flying for themselfs… the intrests too great.
I think the fact most people cant think passed superheroes in comics does a great disservice to books like preacher, ytlm, walking dead, ect. and the medium in general.
100% agree with you Prettz!
You’re right about one thing: super heroes arent going anywhere. But I think Devin makes a good point that the Big Two universes of 6 month tie in cross overs and 60 year continuities seem impossibly dated.
did anyone else kinda think it was poor choice of words with the whole “you haven’t seen WW II till you seen it through the eyes of Tarantino.” I just think it makes it sound kinda like hes going to tell a better cooler story than anything actually done in that “boring” old word…
Dont get me wrong, I’m totally wanting to see this!
And I want my Scalps!
The People vs. George Lucas looks pointless. I mean Star Wars is my favorite movie of all time and the prequels I think are bearable and ok for what they are (nowhere near the originals). This just looks uninteresting to me…I’d rather see fanboys
Inglorious Bastards looks great. Pitt looks like he’s gonna be incredible, and with Tarantino at the helm it could possibly be my favorite movie of the year. The trailer was also really well put together and gave you the basic gist of the flick.
Mermaid looks like it could be really good, or just weird. Who knows? it’s up in the air.
“Tales of the Black Freighter”…I don’t know what to make of it. It’s kinda weird that they are choosing to go with an anime look even though the graphic novel looked nothing like that. However, it worked with Gotham Knight, so what’s to say it won’t work here.
to be fair the black freighters original look doesnt really lend itself to mass consumer
