Torchwood:US Not Moving Forward On FOX
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010
FOX and BBC agree that Torchwood isn’t a good fit for network television.
FOX has decided not to pursue an American version of the Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood. “BBC Worldwide Productions and the FOX Broadcasting Company have mutually agreed not to progress together with a 13-episode serialized ‘Torchwood’ format. We are currently in discussion with several interested networks,” said BBC Worldwide executive vp of programming and production Jane Tranter. “It’s very much ongoing and very much alive.”
I think we can expect an announcement from SyFy very soon.
Also, that American Doctor Who conclusion that most people jumped to when an American Torchwood was first announced? According to Tranter, that is definitely not the case.
“It may well be confusing to have a British Doctor and an American Doctor at the same time,” she said. “There is only one Doctor, so I don’t see that happening.”

Y The Last Man Vol. 5In this final Deluxe Edition hardcover collecting Y #49-60, Yorick and Agent 355 prepare for their ultimate quest to reunite the last man with his lost love, while the person, people or thing behind the disaster that wiped out half of humanity is revealed. Then, Yorick Brown's long journey through an Earth populated only by women comes to its dramatic, unexpected conclusion.
SyFy already has Sanctuary. That show certainly isn’t the same as Torchwood, but it shares some similarities. That’s not to say that SciFi wouldn’t love to have a new show that actually has a chance of not sucking.
Also, that quote from Tranter about an American Doctor Who is encouraging.
I feel so relieved I would rather see this new American Torchwood on other notwroks like HBO or the Sci Fi channel.
I heard on another podcast about dr.who that there will be no US torchwood they were thinking about it but the show is just to much to US TV .
But I do it will be back on bbc but with a new cast besides Capt. Jack.
I hope Matt Smith will be a guess on there ever now and then
