Things are Looking up for Fox Fridays
Tuesday, March 17th, 2009
Good news for Dollhouse and Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles fans.
Ratings for both shows saw an increase in ratings for their most recent episodes. T:SCC saw a 20 percent increase, while Dollhouse (who already had more viewers) saw growth of 7 percent.
Let’s hope the trend continues with what Joss Whedon has been calling the ground-breaking episode of Dollhouse this Friday.

Y The Last Man Vol. 5In this final Deluxe Edition hardcover collecting Y #49-60, Yorick and Agent 355 prepare for their ultimate quest to reunite the last man with his lost love, while the person, people or thing behind the disaster that wiped out half of humanity is revealed. Then, Yorick Brown's long journey through an Earth populated only by women comes to its dramatic, unexpected conclusion.
Hopefully this will lead to more seasons of both shows.
Interesting. The improvements must have come in the DVR viewers and such. The overnights look about normal: http://www.zap2it.com/tv/ratings/zap-ratings-031309,0,5738346.story
For some reason Zap2it didn’t post the week before’s ratings, but the week before that was at these same levels. 2.2 and 2.6…
Unless the ratings are delayed, which doesn’t seem to be the case.
I’ll watch the next episode of Dollhouse and then make my final judgement.
I’ve already made my “final” judgment on the show: I like it enough that I will keep watching it, especially since it has been getting better with each episode so far.
Same for me. I’m not going to be saying it’s a top 3 show anytime soon, but I definitely like it more than enough to keep watching.
Totally can’t wait to see the episode this friday as well! :)
I know that if it wasn’t for Joss Whedon’s name, it wouldn’t have as much support as it does right now. It’s a very mediorcre show
I agree that it wouldn’t have as much support. But I’d say that’s because nobody would have started watching it. But I’d say it’s far above mediocre. Not great, but definitely above average.
I liked episode 1 but couldn’t sit through episode 2, I just can’t relate to anything or anyone on the show and it makes me feel alienated.
Is it becuase everyone in the show is American? (rim shot)
You know..with soooo much expectation on this Fridays show , if it doesn’t knock all our socks off…they might bring out the guillotine for Joss!
Tonight’s Dollhouse was pure Joss and was just excellent. Patton FTW! :) It really is going to ramp up now.
SCC was excellent too. Please don’t cancel these shows Fox.
I couldn’t agree more. Those were two of the best tv episodes I’ve seen this year.
What I appreciated about Dollhouse was that it wasn’t the typical female ninja assassin show in the vein of Buffy / Alias. I thought the psychological aspects of identity was the most interesting part.
I liked Patton Oswald though.
I also liked that he showed the client as not being as a total skeev or slimeball like a lot of other eps have. Yes, his character was no angel nor was what he was doing “right” persay… but you could sympathize with him and realize that this guy was just a sad and lonely man just trying to live out the one thing his money could never REALLY buy.
Holy crap the last episode was amazing.
My girlfriend and I were on the edge of our seats pleading for Ballard to get back in time to save Mellie, and then… “There are three flowers in a vase. The third flower is green.” We squee’d!
Also, know for certain that what Echo told Ballard is true on account of the fact that Adelle mentioned “the other houses” in passing- no way they would’ve told him about that if it were true- SLEEPERS!
And finally- PORN!
When the three flowers happened I just went, “of course! they’re happy and just slept together! Damn you Joss!”
The bit about “Porn!” was a *very* Whedon-style joke. I loved it.
Friday night was just insane TV-wise. TSCC had its best episode of the season (and perhaps even the series to date). Dollhouse had a great episode that sets up a much bigger overall arc.
Both of those would be good enough to be a great night of TV, but the BSG series finale was also on Friday. Despite a few things I didn’t really like, BSG went out in style with a great finale that had both bombastic action and softer, poetic moments.
Last Friday was insanely awesome for lovers of sci-fi television. :D
Patton Oswalt is a great actor
both show arent doing good in rating , i love them both but i think they mite both get caneled soon , i hope they dont tho
