Andy Hallett dies at 33

Andy Hallet (Lorne from Angel) has died of heart failure last night in Los Angeles.
Lorne was the loveable green demon, host of Keritas, and all around heart of Angel Investigations.
I met Andy at Dragon*Con two years ago and I have to say that meeting him was one of the most pleasurable fan experiences I’ve ever had. He was a complete gentleman and spent time with the people who came to see him.
His loss will be felt by Whedon fans everywhere.

This is just sooo sad. Such a talented performer and he was a great addition to Angel. Taken before his time. He will be missed.

Very sad. He was a memorable part of Angel.
I also met him at DragonCon a few years ago. While I didn’t have the same experience with him (The guy was pretty much an ass), he was still very funny, very talented, and will be missed a lot.
We had the same experience with him at D*C. But the Whedonverse won’t be the same without him.
I’m just so stunned.. it’s such a tragedy.
Apparently the Heart Disease had something to do with a tooth infection he got around the end of filming Angel. That is insanely sad. :(
I only ever saw him on Angel, but I loved the character of Lorne. It’s tragic that he died so young.
Damn, he was a year younger than I.

It is so sad that such a young person should pass on. His Lorne character, on Angel, took a while to grow on me but over time he became one of my favorites. He was quick witted and funny. He delivered his line with such ease that the almost seemed to be adlibbing didn’t he?
Wow, I didn’t hear about this. 33, I just turned 33, that’s insane and terribly sad. R.I.P. Andy.
This weekend I was in San Diego, and while in a bar that got me thinking about Caritas (the bar Hallet’s character Lorne owned in Angel).
So I ordered a Seabreeze in honor of Lorne – it’s his signature drink. I’d never had had one before – pretty good despite it’s foo-foo drink look: Vodka, Grapefruit Juice and Cranberry juice. So I had another, and a third.
Then I had a headache the next morning. Rest in peace Andy – here’s to ya!
