Alexis Denisof and Summer Glau May Be Joining Dollhouse Cast?

Hey, someone’s gotta hire ‘em.
I joke, I joke, I kid, I kid. During the Dollhouse panel, Alien Ressurection and Titan A.E. screenwriter Joss Whedon hinted that two of his frequent collaberators may be joining the cast of his newest-series. That’s a “maybe” by the way, but it does make sense. Denisof was a cast member of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel, while Summer Glau won serious geek cred as the blank-stared, super-powered River Tan on Firefly and Serniety and a similar charecter, Cameron on The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Now, I stopped watching Dollhouse after Man on the Street, but I am looking forward to checking out the series on DVD and have no qualms about jumping on baord the bandwagon come Season 2 time. But I really hope Glau isn’t playing the same, emotionless, little-girl-lost charecter she played on Firefly and SSC. Come on Joss, let the girl stretch! Remember how much fun you used to let Sarah Michelle Geller have?
Speaking of Buffy, how fun is it gonna be to see Denisof and Dollhouse star Eliza Dusku reunite?

Ever notice how much Bill Pullman’s character looks and dresses like Malcolm Reynolds in that movie? Actually, both Alien 4 and Titan AE are like early concept art for Firefly.
Alexis Denisof will be appearing in Season 2 of Dollhouse for sure, but Summer Glau is kind of up in the air right now because of possible scheduling issues and because they both (her and Joss) are trying to find the right place/character for her. Summer told Joss kind of half-kidding, “I’d like to play a normal person before I die of old age”. Joss agrees, and he’s working hard to try and make that happen. So, rest assured Nick that she will definitely NOT be playing her typical sci-fi roles of the past.
Summer Glau needs to be in a really cute, fun romantic comedy. That would make me happy
After seeing her cameo in the big bang theory I agree whole-heartedly.
She seems really suited to be a doll, and we know she works well with Joss, but I fear her becoming way too typecast.
What if she played a Doll that, due to reasons I couldn’t explain becuase I haven’t really gotten into the show, she was a Doll that was stuck on personality; a vivacious and chipper third-grade teacher or something like that?
Wouldn’t be impossible. There is at least one other doll in the series that has consistent programming. I won’t mention who out of respect to those that haven’t watched the full season, but it’s definitely possible.
But I’d definitely rather have her in a more normal role for once. I think she has too much versatility to keep getting the bizarre roles.
