ABC Cancels ‘Daisies’ ‘Eli’ and ‘Money’
Thursday, November 20th, 2008
ABC has decided to spray weed killer on Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, and Dirty Sexy Money, opting not to pick up the series for full-season orders.
Money and Eli are still in production (on their 12th and 13th episodes, respectively) and will finish shooting their current order, while Daisies finished production on its final episode last week.
Bryan Fuller, creator of Pushing Daisies, still seems hopeful about his series’ future.
“I can’t help but feel immense pride when it comes to ‘Pushing Daisies.’ I’m grateful TO everyone and FOR everyone who brought the show to life and for the very loyal audience that embraced us. If we are indeed dead on ABC, we now have to convince DC Comics to let us tell the rest of the season’s story lines out in comic book form and convince Warner Bros. features to let ‘Pushing Daisies’ live again as a movie.”
Looks like Fuller’s heading to Heroes afterall. Depending on which you prefer, this is either good news or bad.

I’m really more concerned about Eli Stone than anything… I’m really disappointed about this news.
I was just starting to really get in Eli as well.. why can’t they keep anything good on TV… at least I still have HIMYM, House, Heroes… wow.. hrmm.. lots of H shows that I like..
Damn, this bites. Like, seriously Pushing Daisies was just…it something. I don’t care if this makes Heroes better, it still won’t equal the joy, warmth wit and humor that this show brought into my home every Wensday night. I’ve never campigned for a TV show or movie before, but if Fuller needs me to mail bagloads of daisies or pies, I’d gladly do it.
Great news for me. Even if I had loved Pushing Daisies (I never got around to watching it), only a couple other shows (Lost, off the top of my head. And maybe the upcoming ASoIaF series if it turns out good) ever come close to Heroes in it’s prime for me. So if he’s as good as everyone things he is, I’m stoked that he will be making the trip over to Heroes. It’s too bad that it has to come at the cost of another good series, though.
You know, as much as I liked Eli Stone, I can’t help but wonder if the story would have worked better as a movie than a show.
I’m totes bad, I didn’t even realize the show was back on until last night when I notticed it in the TV guide and dl-ed the first two episodes of season 2. Haven’t even watched them yet…
I loved Stone the 1st season but never got around to it this time around. Curse you second season curse!
Yeah I loved Daisies season 1 but just can’t watch season 2 (too much opposite). Hopefully there will be enough episodes to release it on dvd (blu ray). I loved season 1 and it sucks it’s cancelled.
I really enjoyed Eli Stone, but season 2 isn’t as good as season 1 was (not enough singing :) ). But I’m disappointed it’s canceled.
This is the time of year where shows are going to start kicking the bucket.
I loved Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies. I’m really bummed to hear this. I hope that they at least are able to end both series on a satisfying and conclusive note so I’m more likely to buy the DVD.
Though, if you want to look on the bright-side at least these shows won’t be run into the ground and will leave us wanting more.
