Wednesday, January 14th, 2009
MacNN reported today that the Apple CEO cites “health related issues” for the absence.
In a letter to Apple employees, Steve Jobs acknowledges that his health issues were “more complex than [he] originally thought.” Jobs says he plans to return by the end of June.
(Just in time for WWDC…Coincidence?)

I really hope he’s ok!
I totally read this five minutes ago on Digg
dang it… I’m late :)
Here in Silicon Valley this is the biggest news in forever. Bigger than Bartz taking over Yahoo or Carly getting fired from HP.
As big a part of Apple as Steve Jobs is I doubt we’ll see any effects from this for a while, it at all. They are working on stuff so far ahead of what is out right now that this won’t affect that too much. Besides there is a lot of very talented people in the company besides him.
Still I hope he’s alright, but I’m sure that he’s fine, he’s just probably needs a break. He’s been pretty busy the last 3 years.
The Apple share price has dropped 10% since this was first announced. The market appears to think Apple could lose direction without Job’s leadership.
Well that’s just crazy, its not as though he was the only one working there. Besides he’s not gone, just kind of on an extended vacation. I’m sure he wouldn’t let anything too bad happen.
Actually, Apple share prices seem to fall after *ANY* announcement: iPhone, iPod, iMac. It’s weird, and I’m not saying it’s 10% usually, but still.
