Before I listen to this, I’m just going to say that this movie really surprised me, I went in hoping for a terrible movie to laugh at and whilst I was watching it I started thinking to myself “Wow, I don’t hate this”, solid 6/10 movie for me, just an easy watch.

I’m surprised you guys didn’t talk about the HUGE WTF moment in the film where Master Roshi tells Goku that he has to master Air Bending, Fire Bending, and Water Bending. So in the movie he’s also Ang from “Avatar: The Last Airbender”. And no discussion on Shenron the Eternal Dragon?
i hated the dragon, it was way too small and the sky did not turn black like it should. And the “Bending” thing was just really dumb, and I just tried to forget about it.
Wow… listening to this, I really let this film off a lot, but I still enjoyed it…
Just got back from watching Dragonball, haven’t listened to the episode yet. I was actually surprised by how much I didn’t hate it. It wasn’t anything great but it was also reasonably fun most of the time.
I have to agree with you. I actually liked the first 3/4 of the movie. I think they just crammed too much into it.

I have not seen the movie yet but listened to the episode. Sounds like I should be thanking Hanna Montana for taking up 2 of the 6 screens at our theatre. I will probably see it on dvd when it comes out just because I am a DBZ fan. It can’t be worse than the 1989 Dragonball: The Magic Begins live action movie. In it Roshi wore the turtle shell and was a giant pervert. Thanks for the heads up
This made me want to never see the movie…and yet it DID make me want to rewatch dragonball the show.

Chow Yun Fat was the best part of the movie, but I do think Jackie Chan would’ve been better

Ki (as in key) is the Japanese pronunciation for the Chinese character pronounced in Mandarin as chi (as in cheese); they mean the same thing.

I think you should watch the original live dragonball movie, Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins. Maybe then compare it to this and see which is worse uhh better i mean. It was unoffical but it stays kinda close to the series i think. been awhile since i watched it.

haha I saw that movie like 11 years ago. My younger brother was obsessed with Dragonball and I saw it at the video store so I rented it for him. It was clearly for 8 year olds with ADD and it was SO bad it was fun to watch.
Ha, this review was hilarious. I haven’t seen the movie, and I don’t plan to. The Superman comparisons were hilarious.
I never watched the original Dragonball, just Dragonball Z back when it was on Cartoon Network. The episode put me in the mood to watch Dragonball. I’ve found most of the show on youtube so far. I just started the second season. Great stuff.

I never seen a whole eps of DB but I was going to see this , but after the bad things i heard I change my mind?
