Btw, i did not get around to mentioning it, but my casting for Wonder Woman in JL: Evangeline Lily. Yeah, baby!
Agreed! I love her. =)
i think you guys should put time specifications on when you talk about certain things in the description like that if there is a bit you really want to listen to they can find it easily
Good idea. They are up now. We used to do that in the past, but we weren’t sure if people paid attention or not.
thanks man
by the way i am not french i just life in france and i didn’t turn off the podcast
OH THANK GOODNESS!!!!
i did mean the dream in a dream in a dream type thing
I saw Looper. I wasn’t confused, I understood the plot and story progression and the intricacies of the time travel. However, I did have a couple logistical time paradox issues. Ultimately, the movie hinges on just going with it, If you focus on the paradox, the movie just won’t work.
Oscar Predictions.
First, I gotta say, I feel bad for any nominee in Best Foreign Language film or Animated film when they’re up against a movie that is also nominated for Best Picture. Obviously the movie nominated for best picture is going to win the lesser category. The other nominees have to start on their “Its an honor just to be nominated” speeches as soon as they find out they’re nominated. Its very depressing. On to my predictions:
Animated Film: Wreck-It Ralph
I’ve only seen 2 of the nominees, but I can’t imagine Wreck-It Ralph not winning.
Best Supporting Actress: Helen Hunt
I’ve seen 4 of the 5 nominees. Anne Hathaway was good in Les Mis, but the role is fairly small and it didn’t blow me away. Hunt gave a very exposed performance with lots of subtlety and depth.
Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz
Again saw 4 of the 5 nominees. Waltz was so front and center that supporting kind of seems wrong, but whatever. He kind of puts on his character and lives in it comfortably, which is great. Whereas one had to keep wondering where Tommy Lee Jones got his time machine.
Best Actress: Naomi Watts
I saw three of the nominees, didn’t see the oldest and the youngest. Watts was pretty damn impressive in a movie that really lived up to its name.
Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis
Saw three of the nominees, I think this one is in the bag. Day-Lewis just disappeared into the role of Lincoln.
Best Director: Ang Lee – Life of Pi
Seen three nominees. Ang Lee took what was supposedly an impossible book to adapt and made a visually stunning fable that in the end asks the viewer to examine their life view.
Best Picture: Argo
I’ve seen 7 of the 9. Haven’t seen Amour or Beasts of the Southern Wild yet. There are some great movies nominated and I’ve enjoyed them all in one way or another. I believe Argo should win because its a great film, but I also think the Academy is going to make up for snubbing Affleck in the directing category by giving Argo the win.
There you have it, now to wait for the 24th and hope Seth MacFarlane doesn’t pull a Franco.
Static Shock. Had the potential to be the next spiderman, but they stopped promoting him for like ten years. He also put Milestone and groundbreaking company on the map.
Static was awesome. I really enjoyed that show, especially when they did crossovers with the Justice League.
My top 5 hall of fame superhero’s are 1) Superman, why because hes the father of all superhero comics. If you have a problem chances are if superman cant save you then no one can. 2) Spiderman, because i think kids and teenagers, like myself, connect with Spiderman because he is so young. That relatability ,i feel, deserves him a spot in the hall of fame. 3) Wonderwoman, because shes the first female superhero and shes the most passionate about being a hero. 4) Rorschach , Rorschach and the Watchmen kinda started an era of dark superhero comics which was fallowed by frank millers batman TDKR . 5) The Black Panther, I actually ended up picking Black Panther over batman, this is because i found The Panther to be more influential on the comic book medium because he was the first black comic book superhero.
Also thanks for the news on the JLA movie. All of the people iknow will now be going to the Man of Steel movie because i want to see the JLA on the sliver screen.
Finally who would you cast for wonderwoman I cant find an actress who would fit the part.
Okay top five nominees for the Hall of Fame. The first four have been covered adequately, I have nothing to add.
1. Superman
2. Spider-Man
3. Batman
4. Wonder Woman
5. Hulk
Now, I haven’t really done the research, but I think the Hulk was the first Superhero in the misunderstood monster vein. Often times he was not recognized as a hero, being judged only on his looks and demeanor. It could even be argued that he was one of the original anti-heroes. While most heroes had a secret identity, Banner actually became a uniquely different character when becoming the Hulk. Plus, if he doesn’t make it into the hall of fame….Hulk Smash!
I gave a little thought to Wonder Woman casting and I think Lacey Chabert could nicely fill that particular spandex. http://cdn005.fansshare.com/photos/laceychabert/full-lacey-chabert-1101633817.jpg
Has that Lacey chick ever done anything? Not tgat it really matters. Despite the rash of stars succeeding in superhero movies, i am still an advocate for second-tier and nobody actors filling the parts.
But, as stated earlier, we all love us some Evangeline Lilly. I am sure there are ways to bulk her up a bit without making her fat. Look what they did with everybody from 300.
And for our first HoF class, looks like the top two are unanimous in Superman and Wonder Woman. I would say the next two shoe-ins are Spiderman and Batman, with less than unanimous results. But the fifth is tough. I will have to see what Tomas got in e-mail form.
Lacey started out as a child actress on Party of Five and she was in Not Another Teen Movie and Mean Girls. Lately she’s been doing a lot of voice work including Zatanna on Young Justice.
Top 5 entries for the Hall of Fame:
1) Superman: He is the grandaddy of all superheroes.
2) Batman: Not only did he show that superheroes don’t have to be meta-humans, his character has changed the face of entertainment. Between multiple successful animated series dating back LONG before I was alive, live action serials, live action TV show and 2 successful movie franchise runs with 7 movies (even though Batman and Robin sucked). Batman is an icon.
3) Spiderman: Also had several successful cartoons, a live action TV movie or two (70′s), and now a second successful movie franchise. Who didn’t own Spiderman underoos when they were a kid???? Also, he was the first relate-able hero.
4) Hulk: He is instantly recognizable, even to people who have never read a comic book. Hulk Hogan named himself after the character. Several successful cartoons, an iconic TV show (with later TV movies) and several movies. Despite Ang Lee’s piece of crap, the Hulk still remains popular and marketable.
5) Wonder Woman: She was the first female superhero to step-up and kick butt. She remains the icon of female superheroes. She is the role model for all other female heroes.
