What? No music recommendations from Randy? I’ll have to skip this episode now! ;) :p
The album I’ve been enjoying the most this summer is one that I highly doubt anyone here has heard of (let alone listened to): At the Edge of Time by Blind Guardian.
There are so many tracks that I absolutely love that it is hard to pick a favorite, but I’ll narrow it down to a tie between two. Wheel of Time is an epic track based on Robert Jordan’s series of novels by the same name, and Curse My Name is a catchy ballad infused with a medieval sound based on The Tenure of Kings and of Magistrates. The album also has a couple of great songs loosely based on A Song of Ice and Fire that I can’t stop listening to (War of the Thrones, A Voice in the Dark).
Great show guys, and fantastic music. I would totally listen to another episode.
I enjoyed in many different layers, but what I liked the most from this episode was that it was very relaxing specially when I listened to it on my last hours of work on Friday afternoon.
I would definitely would listen to another one if it becomes a regular thing.
Also, I wouldn’t mind episodes like this with different themes, such as movie soundtracks, tv soundtracks.
Even songs that would be great background music for specific comic books.
Can’t wait for the next one :D
Good show. I could totally see this being a new show. Maybe more than one sample from each artist or group. Maybe sample 2 or 3 songs so we get more of a feel for their music.
I downloaded “Breadcrumb Trail” and heard the whole thing by Buried Bed. LOVE IT! My kind of “cleaning the house” background music. Good call.
Great show guys… I’m a music geek, so it was great to hear about some bands that I’ve not listened to before…
The idea of a regular monthly show sounds great… I hope you can make it happen…
I now like steal train thank to you guys , But didn’t care for the other bands .
artist: Arcade Fire—“Ready To Start” is a weird song in the clip u played it said “they will drink blood ,they say they would ”
anyways all the bands were okay but besides steal train the others were just not my cup of tea.
PS a full music podcast would be cool but only a mouthly podcast.
Great show guys! Good to see people analysing songs for the emotions and images they evoke.
A newish album that I think falls squarely into the “winter music” category is “The First Joke & Other Matters” by Jeff Martin & Steve Padin. Listen to the first two songs on their page:

Great episode guys. Good on you for trying something different. I enjoyed the episode, though I am not the biggest music person I have to say. Still, I reckon this would make a good monthly podcast or even as a once a month feature on Geekin Extra like TrailerGeek currently does.
I just remembered something else I was listening to a lot earlier in the summer. For some reason, I started listening to the Burnout Paradise soundtrack when I was driving somewhere one day, and then I ended up putting it on every time I got in the car for weeks afterward. I guess music from a racing game goes well with driving.
Hey loved this episode. Great to have on in the background or just chill out too. Would definitely be up for a monthly podcast based on this!
Just realized that I forgot to say that I liked this subject. I hope you guys do many more of these in the future.
