Scott Pilgrim Vol. 1-6From writer/artist Bryan Lee O'Malley comes the story of Scott Pilgrim, the 23 year old slacker who's precious little life is turned upside down when he meets the girl of his dreams (literally), Ramona Flowers, and discovers that in order to be with her, he must fight and destroy her seven evil ex boyfriends. I’ve seen Inception twice now, and I really enjoyed the movie. However, the more I think about it, the more I realize that I like the world it set up, the immaculate visual presentation, and the excellent sound design, but the plot itself is a bit lacking for me.
I love the ideas behind what is going on, especially the relativity between dream levels, and I really liked the performances (especially Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy). I just think there were so many missed opportunities, especially with not letting Ellen Page’s character mess around with the world during the climax. Perhaps Nolan avoided that because he was more interested in the personal story and didn’t want to go the obvious route (the “training” sequence with Page earlier in the film seems to point towards her using her creativity later on to me).
Anyway, my favorite parts were the sequences in the hotel, especially the cool action. I also like the ending not because of any twist or whether it’s still a dream or not. I like the fact that it doesn’t really matter because DiCaprio’s character has obviously turned his back on the totem so it doesn’t matter if the top falls or not. He has let go of his emotional baggage and can see his kids faces again, real or not.
If I had to rank Nolan movies right now, Inception would not be on the top of the list. I would probably go with Memento as my favorite followed closely by The Dark Knight and Inception. Batman Begins and The Prestige come next with Following and Insomnia bringing up the rear.
One of my favorite things related to Inception is all of the different theories about it that are all over the net. I’ve read a nice variety of ideas, and the most awesome thing is there is enough evidence for most interpretations to make sense. Personally, I think that the early part of the movie (other than the immediate opening) was in reality, but the end of the movie right before the credits is still in Limbo.
In case you guys haven’t seen it yet, here’s a short YouTube video about Inception’s music that is somewhat mind blowing. There aren’t any spoilers, in case you haven’t seen it yet.

I disagree with you guys I think he was awake at the end of the movie beocouse the top slowed down, and as for his kids maybe becouse of his job he think more time hads pass then hads in real life .
I think Cobb is dreaming at the end, but I also think it doesn’t matter whether he is or not. That’s not the point of the story. Next time any of you watch the film, when Cobb gets his passport stamped near the end, the stamp is that looping arrows symbol Cobb was drawing earlier, with the line through it.
I also completely agree with Polygon_Wizard’s ranking list of Nolan’s films, but I have yet to see Following. I think Inception is quite an achievement, but the emotional elements don’t move me as much as Memento and The Dark Knight. Inception is more concerned with its plot, but I still love the film, regardless.
Yeah your right it don’t matter and us all here talking about it so how good the movie is
I meant shows and so
The more I think about it, the more I think he might’ve been dreaming (in limbo?) at the end.
But I have doubts, and I swear that top was about to start toppling. I’ve also read that the kids were actually older at the end (and I think there are 2 different actors for each kid), but I didn’t notice that.
Maybe (if) the top starting to topple is him finally waking up from the dream but in that ending (with his kids) he wasn’t awake yet.
Oh, and I want a sequel and/or spin-off too (more the latter).

One problem I had with Inception, SPOILERS- why is that what was happening in the hotel dream didn’t effect the snow compound in the same way that what happened in the city effect the hotel? When the van would tumble, Arthur would have to deal with the gravatational consequences. But when he was pushing Cobb, Ariadnne, etc, none of them had any side effects in the snow compund.
I thought about that too. I put it down to a couple of things. The movie is already fairly complex structure-wise, so trying to fit that relativity into the snow compound section of the dream probably cause way too many headaches than it was worth. Plus, it seems that the relativity diminishes with each dream level (ie. Ken Watanabe’s injuries are less and less apparent as they get into deeper levels). Perhaps everybody had a slight sensation of movement in the snow compound dream, but it’s not enough to see visually?
