Took a break while we got ready for our two vacations we took. Although I'm thinking about extending it until I can get a computer that is easier to do video editing on. My Mac Mini does not enjoy editing HD Video.

The show needs a lot of work. When I record video with my camcorder, it actually shoots more area than the LCD screen shows. So I can't actually line up a shot right. I can't find any information on why it does this, so I'm stuck trying to under compensate for the amount of video I'm shooting. Which means I often mess up the video, or have to do some editing later.

But I do plan on returning to the show soon. We have a great sponsor in thoughthammer.com, so as long as they want us, we'll be eager to continue. They often send us suggestions of games to cover, and are very nice. That's why when I was looking for a sponsor, they were the first people I asked.

I only played the single-player stuff from the first Modern Warfare, and I've found the multiplayer here to be easy to get into...I just die way too much. Of course it didn't help that my controller kept shutting off when I was trying to play last night. It supposedly had three bars worth of battery left, but it kept shutting off anyway.

It is a game that takes a lot of getting used to. When to run, when to crouch. How to pay attention to the mini-map. When to shoot and when to melee. I've went from 3-14 the first several games to decently consistently on the top-ish of the scoreboard.

Totally agree. It seems just about everything i disliked about the first was changed in this one. We should set a time to all play together like we did with Halo.

If anybody wants to get a bunch of kills, they should play against me in multiplayer. I played for about an hour last night, and I probably got about 10 kills total while dying at least 60 times.

God....Modern Warfare 2 is amazing. Take away the fact that they disabled Party Chat in every playlist where people would care (grumble grumble), and the multiplayer is phenominal, IMO. I think it's better than the first in so many ways. Still some room for improvement, but it's great.

Yeah, Trick R Treat isn't really that scary. It is a lot of fun though. Incidentally, I feel the same way about Drag Me To Hell. Perhaps Trick R Treat should be included in the "spook-a-blast" genre as well.

Great hearing the show again.

Loved the GTA5 idea. Maybe it could take place in San Andreas (or the LA equivalent in the game; can't think of what they called it) and have a The Shield sort of vibe to it (like Vice City had a Miami Vice vibe or San Andreas a Boys in the Hood vibe).

I never finished GTA4, and i need to go back but like you said, I got bored of the missions. It's the only GTA game I've never, well since GTAIII, finished.

Now that I have a 360 Elite, the game should look better (I haven't played it since I got an HDTV). I also need to go back and play Dead Rising. Maybe I can read the damn text :) In fact I need to play several games, including BIoshock, Mass Effect, and Assassin's Creed (I own the first two, butneed to pick up AC).

I was a Transformers and GI Joe fan back in the day, but if I had to choose, i was more a GI Joe guy. That comic sounds cool; may have to check it out.

I think that in the producer's mind that that was a little more acceptable as it is a completely different audience and almost guarantees 2 tickets sold per customer (child and parent/guardian) To do poorly against a movie that is completely the same audience is a pretty damming blow.

Whatever you did made the episode sound perfectly fine. If you hadn't said anything, I wouldn't have known anything had been wrong. Both of you sounded fine using headphones.

Had a ball guesting on the show again, hope I can make reappearance sooner than later. (Probably will sometime in the first few days of 2010, and we'll come bearing the announcement of our "super secret awesome" project).

And speaking of audio quality, our new mixer is arriving by the end of the week, so look for new Fandomonium as soon as next week!

I'd be willing to guest on Geekin' anytime, as long as you will all have me back :)

Glad to hear you found the audio quality good. You should (not) have heard the original version. I could barely hear Scott even on my speakers. So I could only imagine how bad it would have been for someone with headphones.

Always glad to get a chance to work on the show. It's always a lot of fun.

I like what I've played of Baldur's Gate. And I really like Neverwinter's Nights. But for me, Bioware didn't become a AAA developer until KoTOR. So stepping back quite that far isn't really what I want to see. At that point, it mostly just becomes an "pretty good" game, rather than a great game. And since that's basically what I felt from Mass Effect, I'm not sure I would want to go into Dragon Age like that.

I did watch the video review of it. The story and the characters looked top notch from what I saw. But the graphics were borderline ugly on the 360. The system was dumbed down from the PC. The combat actually looked kind of boring. I don't mind MMO-style combat with the fantasy style hack-slash-hack-slash, but it needs to either be backed up by something else, or have that multiplayer element. That's one of the reasons I could never get through Oblivion, which this game actually reminds me a lot of.

I'll probably pick this up at some point, but the list of games I care way more about is pretty high at this point. Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Assassin's Creed 1 & 2, DJ Hero, Borderlands, Infamous, Killzone 2, Uncharted 1 & 2, Little Big Planet, ModNation Racers, Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, etc, etc, etc. Having the perks that Scott has would be really handy about right now. :)

Made me smile hearing the theme song at the beginning of the show, didn't realize how much i missed the show. The sound was good randy, i didn't have any problems with it.

If anybody is still in the Halloween mood, I recommend that you check out Trick R Treat. I watched it over the weekend, and it is one of the most fun horror movies I've seen in a long time. Incidentally, I also recently saw Drag Me To Hell, and it was also great fun.

I played through one of the origin stories in Dragon Age last night, and I loved it. I'm planning on playing through at least a couple more origin stories before moving too far into the game.

From what little I've seen so far this is definitely a "step back" for Bioware, but in a good way. It isn't a step back in quality at all. Instead, it is a throwback to older Bioware RPGs like Baldur's Gate. The voice acting is insanely good, and it is everywhere. There are even some regular guards that have conversation trees to go through. The graphics aren't the best I've seen, but they aren't horrible either. The art design of the world is great, however.

Bottom line is this: if you have ever loved playing a Bioware game and if you like Western-style fantasy worlds, there is no reason not to try Dragon Age.

I think Ben is looking forward to picking that up, from what I heard. Let me know how it is. I love Bioware, but this seemed like a step backwards for them, to me. Plus, since I'm about to pickup Modern Warfare 2, I'm about to run out of time.

I did go play the DJ Hero demo at Best Buy yesterday. It was a lot of fun, but god I have no rhythm. It's always an uphill battle for me to learn to play games like that. And I still can't play the drums in Rock Band. Still, it was a blast to play. One of the reviews I read nailed it. It's like patting your head and rubbing your belly at first. Sliding and turning apparently confuses my brain sometimes. Also, when I first sat down, I was like, "What's Scott talking about? This slider has something in the middle to let you know you are there", but I soon realized it was virtually useless in the heat of the game. I often found myself over-sliding the middle.

I also took a look at Left 4 Dead while I was there. I saw they had a $30 Game of the Year edition out now. I assume it comes from with the DLC that people didn't like. I may try to find a cheaper used copy of the original game instead, because I just can't stand the look of Platinum Hits and similar games. I don't want a miniature picture of my game box.

Looked for Borderlands as well, but they didn't appear to have it.

Great episode so far guys. I am smack dab in the middle of the video game discussion, and I am loving listening to it.

Like you guys mentioned in the episode, I absolutely loved the first Assassin's Creed. For me, the freedom of movement and well-implemented setting more than made up for the flaws of the game. I even bothered to find every single flag in the game just because I loved navigating the environment so much. The sequel looks like it will improve on every single aspect of the first, so I can't wait to play it.

I also loved your idea for GTA5. The undercover cop thing would be an awesome gimmick. I finished Brutal Legend recently, and I've really been enjoying my new PS3 as well. Ratchet & Clank Future and the Uncharted games are great. I've also been messing around with LittleBigPlanet and slowly picking my way through Dead Space.

However, my gaming time is about to be dominated by Dragon Age Origins seeing as how I bought it at lunch today. I can't wait to dive into it later tonight.
