GeekiN Episode #2: 07/06/2005
Thursday, July 7th, 2005
After a week of anticipation to try out our new equipment, here is the latest episode. We had a packed episode with a movie Review for War of the Worlds at the end. A new email address as well: podcast@geekshow.us
We are very proud of how this episode turned out because of the new equipment and just the fact that we are getting more comfortable in front of the microphone. You will notice a HUGE jump in quality today.
First things first, we had to give some love to our new friends over at http://www.singleservingofcoke.com. These two were an inspiration for us to loosen up and be more natural. Plus they have to be one of the funniest podcasts we’ve come across so far.
The best news was given at the top of the show, though. My sister has converted to Buffism. Then we answered a request by Buddy at SSOC by giving our favorite buffy episodes.
SaberJ (Randy):
1. Once More With Feeling
2. Hush
3. Chosen
Freak_Zombie (Wayne):
1. Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered
2. Doppelgangland
Then I brought up Adam Curry and his Gnomedex Speech. Then I gave my take on the future of online content.
Randy brought the news this week and we got alot of info for you.
Firefly DVD numbers
Highlander 5
Uwe Boll’s next project
Star Wars in 3D?
Kitty Pryde
X-Men news
More X-Men news
Even more X-Men news
Captain America
PS3 News
We then reviewed War of the Worlds. I gave it 5 out of 5 and Randy gave it 3 1/2 out of 5. I have a feeling that we will never agree on movies.
As always, you can reach us at podcast@geekshow.us, freak_zombie@geekshow.us, and saberj@geekshow.us.

Pffft, speak for yourself. I always pay attention to the Entertainment world. Thus my huge list of news that I always have :P
We agreed on Howl’s Moving Castle.
Thanks for the mention on your show. Excellent choices on your favorite Buffy episodes. I love Once More with Feeling. I’m a huge fan of musicals and Buffy. I even have the soundtrack to that episode on CD. There is an excellent featurette on the DVD about that episode if you haven’t checked it out, you should. You guys definately sound more comfortable in this episode. Keep up the excellent work. I haven’t yet seen Batman or War of the Worlds, but I did happen to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I happened to agree with Wayne, it was a funny movie. I thought it was cute, and besides Angelina is hot. Coke and I don’t get to see many movies because any time we have together is spent podcasting.
The Adrian Paul series that Wayne was thinking of is “Tracker”. (IMDB is a wonderful thing.)
Woo, I got another mention. For Lightwave, no less. :)
If anyone cares, I give WotW 4.75 out of 5, mostly losing points due to the odd “buried tripods” element and Morgan Freeman’s narration (which I don’t think held up compared to Orson Welles or Cedric Hardwicke).
