Am I the only one who thought Order of the Phoenix was the best book? It was my 2nd favourite of the films… I’m gonna go back to the episode now.
Prof. Umbridge drove me me NUTS!! I cursed so much while reading that book. I threw the book at the wall, I would be so frustrated with OOTP.
That being said, there was some amazing parts and story to it. I’d have to agree with Scott though, I think the director crafted it well with the good parts and leaving out the weak parts.
Oh Scott, you shot me through the heart on this one. How did you not like Where the Wild Things Are?
I didn’t really like Where the Wild Things Are either. I loved the look of the movie, but everything else just didn’t grab me. I loved the book as a kid, so I certainly have a connection with the material. For whatever, the movie just didn’t connect with me in the same way. I wouldn’t say the movie is bad or anything, in fact it is very well made. I love the idea that Where the Wild Things Are is basically an art film for kids, but I just didn’t get much from it personally.
It just reminded me so much of all the feelings I felt when I was a child, it really touched me and of course, I agree with you on the look, it was gorgeous.
A lot of people seem to have the same problem relating to the film’s point of view. I am completely unable to understand. For me it was a direct hit to the amygdala.
I’ve being reading the “Nemesis” comic (or at least the first two issues). It is incredibly interesting if you consider the “Reverse Batman” angle, but it is just SO FAR over the top. You expect epic from Mark Millar, but it’s almost comical how violent and large scale the action scenes are in the first two issues.
*****SPOILER ALERT*****
The movie would have to scale back and make it a little bit more believable. For example…….
****SPOILER ALERT*****
The 2nd issues ends with Nemesis kidnapping the President and about to execute him over the news. It’s like, “haha…okay whatever. Let’s see how this plays out.”
Hey Scott, the OTH – Life Unexpected crossover it’s supposed to be something along the lines of Haley and Mia the two music artist on the show doing a concert sponsored by Cate and Ryan’s radio station.
OMG, Can’t wait for Torchwood, Game of Thrones.
Haven’t read the John Carter books since I was about 12, I can remember barely anything about them.
Going to see Scott Pilgrim tomorrow – I can’t believe it is being released in OZ so early. Work gave me free movie tickets as a bonus, which is nice. Did you know it costs $17.50 for a basic movie ticket in Australia? That’s 15 US Dollars! No wonder there is piracy.
I still want a “No Man’s Land” based sequel to Arkham Asylum at some point. It just has so much potential and fits well with the feel of the first game.
I loved OotP; both the book and movie. It’s where HP went afterwards in again both he books and the movie that lost me. HBP felt like one chapter’s worth of story progression stretched over two books and don’t get me started on DH. I still love the world of HP and 1-5 but I’m of the belief that JKR never knew where to take the series due to the unexpected success or the series and that left the end of the series lacking.
Besides that Bruce Willis is in the Expendables, he just wasn’t shown in trailers till the last ones. Love the long episodes.
