Scott Pilgrim Vol. 1-6From writer/artist Bryan Lee O'Malley comes the story of Scott Pilgrim, the 23 year old slacker who's precious little life is turned upside down when he meets the girl of his dreams (literally), Ramona Flowers, and discovers that in order to be with her, he must fight and destroy her seven evil ex boyfriends. I don’t see it on the topic list, so I’ll just mention it here. The trailer for Sucker Punch is absolutely insane. I have no idea whether the plot will make any sense, but it looks stylish as hell.
Also, the bootleg trailer for Walking Dead needs an official release. The trailer was awesome, but I want to see it in better quality.
Perhaps I should go listen to the actual podcast now.
I’m in the middle of Season 3 of Battlestar (yeah I know, I’m late to the party), and really am curious to see Caprica.
The film I submitted for Movie Night was legit, it’s fantastic and with it’s remake coming out next week I’d love to hear your opinions on it.
The movie I submitted was also legit (and excellent), but I admit that my choice probably shouldn’t be the one for the first podcast episode.
So Scott & Randy, can we email another film suggestion or two to you guys that may perhaps fit your criteria better?
Yeah, we’ll definitely be doing yours eventually. Just not good for one of the first episode. Go ahead and submit another one if you think you have a better idea.
I’d still like you guys to do my original suggestions, but I may send in a more “geeky” suggestion as well.
Yeah, I keep forgetting about yours. We’ll get to it eventually, but considering I have little to no interest in the plot of the remake, I’m not terribly interested in the original either. So I’m personally not in a hurry. Plus, because its a foreign film(to a majority of our audience anyway), it wouldn’t be an episode that would attract a lot of listeners.
That being said, we’ll definitely get to it.
Perhaps you could give us more narrow parameters about what kind of movie to suggest. I picked a dumb comedy, but it’s very geeky and considered funny by most.
What sort of bad suggestions did you get? (Without embarrassing anyone perhaps)
The stabbing was in-between the Resident Evil panel and the Paul panel, nowhere near the Chuck panel, lucky for me since I was in the Chuck panel.
I thought Josh Schwartz said on Twitter that the Chuck panel was delayed bc of the stabbing and that’s why they had to cancel the audience Q&A. I guess that could still be true regardless of where the stabbing actually happened. I just assumed.
No, q and a was cancelled due to the panel starting 10 mins late and ending on time. The Chuck panel was the first of day and the stabbing happened quite later, maybe Schwartz was making a joke, there were a lot of stabbing jokes as the day went on.
Also I gotta say, I never waited in line for anything that long, the longest waits were for the Scott Pilgrim experience and the Scott Pilgrim screening, but to get into panels it was never more than 30 mins – 1 and half hours, not too bad and you meet so many people in line that you never notice the how long your waiting around for.
How does that work? Dragoncon has longer waits than that.
I don’t know, maybe I was just lucky, oddly enough the longest wait for me was the Chuck panel, but for stuff like The Expendables, Scott Pilgrim, Drive Angry, Skyline, Super (best panel ever), American Dad and Glee, all the lines were around an hours wait. Maybe there is more stuff to do at Comic-Con that people aren’t all lining up for the same thing.
Just as a curious question, Randy….what was it that you didn’t like about G4? It is a very low budget show, but I think the amount of Geeky they have is fun. I thought what you said was funny.
You say show. G4 is a channel. Just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing.
Overall, it’s just a mixture of things. First of all, I hate when niche channels decide to change to a more general channel. SyFy is a good example. Why do we have Wrestling on a Science Fiction channel? But G4 is horrible about it too. Cops? Really? More often than not when I had that channel, there was absolutely nothing that interested me on there.
Then there is the fact that most of their hosts are douche bags. Morgan Webb is pretty cool. But most of the others suck. I didn’t buy into the G4 < TechTV stuff that happened during the merger, but I definitely buy it now. G4 has just killed all talent that channel had, and the shows are usually terrible.
Shows like Cops, Cheaters, and Campus P.D. are an example of why I wouldn’t watch it even if I still had it. Other than the occasional show like their E3 coverage (Though it usually sucked when I did watch it)
Just watched the leaked Comic Con trailer for Thor (on io9). I thought it looked really great, especially the stuff in Asgard.
Hey guys,
You mentioned James Marsters as Lex in the DCU game which is correct but also I believe it is Adam Baldwin doing the voice of Superman.
So Danika McKellar is a VO on Young Justice (Miss Martian), so I’m even more excited about it. I love me some Winnie Cooper
Funny, I was thinking I’ll eventually watch that St. Cloud movie, not in theaters but sometime. I’m a sucker for tearjerkers and I like Zack Effron.
Early reviews of Dinner for Schmucks aren’t good
Anaheim is where Disneyland is.
The pen is mightier than the replica Blade sword? The pen is mightier than the wand? At least he’ll get to dress as a pirate next year, or Snake Plissken.
