I keep hearing good things about the new Mortal Kombat .
I think it will be hell of alot less cheese as the old ones , I just hope it not like the last street fighter movie that the ad look good but the movie sucked .
A new movie, their great web videos, and the tv show being released on dvd. This is a great time to be a fan of the Muppets.
Hey guys, It’s weird maybe it depends on where you live but I saw more commercials for Karate Kid than A-Team. In fact I only remember seeing a commercial for A-Team like 2 or 3 times.
The biggest thing I took away from the 20-second teaser for Game of Thrones is that it is now tangible. The footage wasn’t that amazing or anything, but now it feels like something that actually exists for me. I can’t wait until we can see more.
It’s too bad that A-Team didn’t do very well at the box office. I thought the movie was a blast, easily my favorite movie so far this year.
Karate Kid is likely my new favorite movie of the year. At least in the glow of the after effect. But A-Team was a great movie as well.
I would say that I would go see Karate Kid this weekend….except Toy Story 3 is coming out. I do want to see Karate Kid at some point though.
I don’t think they expected much from karate Kid either. Looking at my movie display at work the other day I realized they sent us NO tie-in material for it. Usually for anything remotely marketed to kids they put out a junior novelization, a couple beginning readers, maybe a coloring book, etc. But for The Karate Kid? Nothing. Hell, I got a MARMADUKE novelization and beginning reader but nothing for Karate Kid. I have no interest in the movie myself but I have to think this was a surprise hit for even the studio that released it.
I can not fathom why A-Team flopped. I hope this doesn’t mean studios will think traditional action movies won’t sell nowadays…
The thing I liked the most about A-Team was that it didn’t try to put a serious spin on the material. It knows that it is a big, goofy action comedy movie, and it embraces the “crowd pleaser” mentality.
I thought Sharlto Copely’s insane antics were freaking hilarious, and the so-far-over-the-top-that-it-was-awesome scene involving the falling tank was probably my favorite part of the movie if I had to pick one. I also loved Patrick Wilson’s character (and it took me forever to realize that I had just seen him in Watchmen) and how smarmy he was.
