Book of the Month
Y The Last Man Vol. 5In this final Deluxe Edition hardcover collecting Y #49-60, Yorick and Agent 355 prepare for their ultimate quest to reunite the last man with his lost love, while the person, people or thing behind the disaster that wiped out half of humanity is revealed. Then, Yorick Brown's long journey through an Earth populated only by women comes to its dramatic, unexpected conclusion.
I don’t think Sasha Baron Cohen is pointing out the way people treat foreigners with Borat, I feel it’s more of Baron Cohen taking peoples stereotypes of what they think a foreigner would be and turned it into a character to show us how ridiculous it is.
Neil Gaiman is brilliant. A Doctor Who penned by him could be very dark, gothic and maybe give us something unique even to Doctor Who.
Another fantastic story by Gaiman was his book, “Neverwhere”. Excellent story. Kind of a goth, Brit-modern version of Alice in Wonderland in the London underground. They made it into a BBC miniseries, which wasn’t bad, but what a storyteller.
I was thrilled when I heard about the Skrulls as the “Avengers” villain. I think it could get very clustered with the entire team battling 1 villain. I want to see the Avengers in full force, powers a-blasting against an army of enemies. We’ll see how it goes.
It’s too bad that Looney Tunes Back In Action failed. The movie is actually really good. I felt that it did a good job of capturing the feel of classic Looney Tunes and incorporating it into a sort of Roger Rabbit-style movie.
I agree it was far better than Space Jam
Maybe I would feel differently if I would rewatch it now, but I never liked Space Jam. I always thought it was a big mess. As it is, I really have no memory of that movie other than my feelings about it, but I can remember several scenes from Back In Action. That either means that BiA is more memorable, or it’s just been way too long since I’ve seen SJ to remember it well.
I’d say give SJ another chance, I love BiA, I pretty much just love everything Joe Dante does.
Likewise, I loved MJ back in those days, so I was perhaps tainted with my opinion. But I really enjoyed Space Jam. In the end though, it’s a sports movie. I dig those, many people don’t.
