I’ve not yet heard the podcast, but let me just say…..the Chuck episode on Monday was awesome!! What a great, well written wrap up to the various story lines. Each character got their own WOW moment.
Same here. I think the last four or five episodes of Chuck, including this week’s, have been especially excellent. I can’t wait to see the various things in future episodes that the preview hinted at.
Now it’s time to learn about winning podcasts or something…
The new Star Wars comedy show is supposed to be animated. Here’s some more information on it: http://www.coronacomingattractions.com/news/star-wars-comedy-show
Given the costs of creating a SW universe, that makes a lot of sense.
Personally, I think one of the bigger selling markets for the iPad (and hopefully similar devices) will be students once the textbooks go electronic.
Concerning the Live Action Star Wars TV show, I looked around for articles concerning it’s status. There are two things that they are waiting on. First, they want to finish the first season’s scripts before the start producing, since they are financing and producing it themselves. Secondly, they still don’t have a network.

Also, here is an interview from a couple years back, talking about what they expect from the show:

I really don’t think the 100 episode commitment has anything at all to do with the delay. Especially based on Lucas’ own admission that it won’t be an issue.
TV Guide: And how are you going to produce this one? Are you going to film a certain number? Are you going to have a deal with a network before you go ahead with filming?
Lucas: No, we’ll do it just the same way that we’re doing the animated series, which is we usually write a whole year first and then we’ll start shooting and then we’ll shoot the whole year and then once we’ve got [something to show], we’ll see where we can put it. We’re going to do a hundred of them, too. [It should be] easier [to place] than the animated one because it’s live-action.
TV Guide: So you’ll film before you get a commitment? Or how will that work?
Lucas: Well, we’re doing these before we get a commitment so we’re just doing them on the faith that we’re going to [sell them]. I mean, we’re doing them ourselves, so we can finance them, we don’t need to have a commitment of any kind. We’re simply going to sell them.
TV Guide: Will you be looking for a network like an HBO to say: “We’ll take all hundred”?
Lucas: Yeah, but they probably won’t do that. [Laughs] Somebody might, but usually what they’ll do is they’ll take 13 or 26 and then see what happens and they’ll take the next group. If that group doesn’t work, then we’ll move to another place. Lucasfilm is basically acting as the production company.
TV Guide: Yeah, but usually a network will commission a single pilot off a script or pick. Well, you know the process.
Lucas: Right, but I have enough confidence that this is good and I’ll make it really good so I’m not too worried about that part of it. And if worse comes to worse, I’ll end up with a lot of library product. [Laughs]
So George Lucas says that he’ll make it good huh? I’ll believe it when I see it…if it ever actually gets made that is.
I recently watch “How to Train your Dragon” in 2D. It was a a fantastic movie and 10 times better than “Clash of the Titans”. I then re-watched again in 3D with my sister and the movie became 100 times better. It was a fantastic movie and it truly deserves its 97% rating from rotten tomatoes :D
I’ve only seen How to Train Your Dragon in 2D, and I thought it was excellent. It would be cool to see some of those flight scenes in 3D though.
Star Wars hads a network a few mouths ago I saw an ad
it didn;t have much in it just death vader and the words coming in 2012 to HBO .
and I heard a lil more of what scott heard not only will there be 100 eps writen but there be taped too before the show even airs .
Maybe I am remember wrong but I think that was I heard and saw .
as for the sitcom I didnt hear anything but I sure it will be good.
There is absolutely no way there has been a pickup of Star Wars to HBO. That would be huge news the moment it happened, much less the moment the advertisement hit. Maybe they were advertising the movies or something. Definitely not the TV series.
Also, I don’t think there is anyway the entire series gets filmed before it airs. Especially since they haven’t even finished writing the first season yet. It would be like 2045 before the series ever aired.
Maybe by 2045 it would actually be a good idea. Perhaps I’ll be proven wrong (and I really hope that I am), but I just don’t see how a live-action Star Wars TV series is a good thing unless George Lucas is out of the picture. He just doesn’t get what actually makes Star Wars good any more (if he ever did in the first place).
I unabashedly love ID4. I watch it every 4th of July along with 1776. I did Bill Pullman’s speech for an acting class I was in (to a huge round of applause from the class). It’s just so over-the-top and Roland Emmerich-y that you can’t hate on it.
I’d love for Adam Baldwin to come back and glad Will Smith’s on board but most importantly… will Jeff Goldblum be back??? Between ID4 and Jurassic Park my girlhood crush on the man was cemented. I shalt truly be disappointed if Mr. Goldblum does not come back as well.
