So, we have a couple podcasts recorded for you guys this week. But I'm going to spend a majority of the morning today seeing if I can recover them from technical mishap that we had.

It was many multiple hours of recording, so I'm hoping for the best. But since Monday is the Doctor Who day, I didn't want people to think that it had been forgotten this week.

Yes Rose did go to far future Earth ,like her second episode, and there was no time that passed between that and her first adventure with the Autons.
That said, it looked from the trailer like his first episode will be on Earth, because the shots of him in Tennants' old costume are all on either Earth, or an Earth facsimile.
I wonder if the Episode that looks like it has Vampires will be on Earth, or just a similar planet?

Thanks for clearing up the lottery ticket bit.

As far as the time that passed bit. I didn't really mean to indicate that we should know how much time passed between each visit. Because really, that could be any amount of time. Such is the nature of time travel. The questions were, "How much time passed between Wilf seeing the Doctor?" and "How much time did the Doctor spend dying?" Knowing those answers wouldn't really close any "openings", IMO. But it would've added to the feelings that the Doctor was having. How long was he dealing with his own death? How long did Wilf have to "keep watching" as The Doctor had told him to do?

I love companions, personally. I think every episode without them suffers. So I suppose that's one of the times that we aren't of like mind. Tennant did best when he had existing relationships to play off of, as you can see with Wilf.

But I'll definitely agree that some off-Earth stories would be great. Though I don't think it will come immediately. We have to ease the new companion into the story. Though I believe Rose and Martha both had some pretty extreme introductions. Didn't Rose go to the Earth of the future pretty early on? And Martha went to the Moon, obviously.

Congrats on another great podcast. I listen to other Doctor Who podcasts, but you guy's are of like mind (most of the time). The lottery ticket episode you were thinking of was 'School Reunion' from series two. Like the way part two ended. The last scenes with Wilf prior to the Doctor getting his reward were amazing. Tennant and Cribbins were incredible together, my heart did sink when he knocked on the glass. I liked how he said good bye to all his companions. I thought the fact that there was no mention of how much time had past between Donna's wedding and Captain Jack's meeting or the saving of Martha and Micky the Idiot(she did mention the something about going freelance during that scene), these all left a few openings. Rose's good bye ( or more like a hello ) was great. Even in that little scene I thought that there was great chemistry. I have scene the Sarah Jane Adventure with the Doctor in it, and this clip had no part in it(so you all should watch Sarah Jane Adventures). As for Matt Smith he looked like he will be great. I was hoping for some companionless episodes but that won't happen. I hope we get more off Earth stories. Bring on Moffet. Looking forward to next weeks podcast.

OOk. Sorry about the confusion. I just misunderstood then. It's kinda hard over audio.
Also, I just finished this episode! IT's great. I can't wait until next week.

Maybe it's just the fact that I started with Eccleston and Tennant, but the fact that the new characters are so young really doesn't bother me at all. Now, I don't think they can go any younger. But this approach doesn't even register on my "worry" meter.

For me, Eccleston and Tennant both made me love them. And I'd usually rank Eccleston and Tennant about the same. But Tennant had a way of kicking it up a notch or two in certain areas that blew your mind. He was a fantastic actor, and I'll miss that from the role. I'm sure Matt Smith will be great, as was Eccleston. But whether or not we will come to feel for the character like we did before...that's still to be determined.

Sure it is. Now find someone on the street that will describe it that way. The point he was making wasn't that they were wrong, but that it was a cold way of looking at it. :)

I'm the same. Tom Baker will always be "that weird British guy n a scarf on PBS" to me that my brother an I watched with such weird confusion/fascination as children. Eccleston was fun but ultimately never entered my heart but Tennant...

I fell for him like a ton of bricks. It's still hurting now knowing he's gone.

I'm still VERY tentative about Matt Smith (I'm sorry, but he looks 12 and the girl looks five...) but I vow to give him a chance.

One other thing! I believe it was Scott that remarked on the bizzare way that Rassilon described Christmas. I know that I'm going back two episodes here. Sorry!
Christmas actually is a pagan rite to banish the cold and dark. It's just been adapted to Christianity! It was nothing to do with a time lords perspective.
Not to sound full of myself.

I hated how heartbreaking the doctors last words where, I was really hoping he wuld maby of added something a tad more positive just before he went like "...but it was soo good" or something like that, because it really was gut wrenching. Really really emotional ending, that made me want to watch tennants whole run again (and go back and watch everything else iv seen him in).

Baker was the first doctor I knew (though I was too young to enjoy it), Eccleston was the first doctor that i liked, but Tennant was the first doctor that I LOVED, and I'll miss him for that. He'll always be my doctor.

Smith had me worried up untill I seen the last 30 seconds here, and I LOVED the preview for the new season. He reminds me alittle of the 3rd doctor mixed with tennant, and the last line of the preview "trust me....i'm the doctor" gave me chills, it seems so obviously perfect.

I', so excited to listen to this. Will post my comments later, But I just want to say how great it is to listen to this podcast. It came up right after I started watching Doctor Who. I'd seen a couple episodes, but I was just going through the old seasons trying to get caught up when this showed up. It gave me a little better insight. I look forward to I every Monday!
