I have to agree with you guys on the opening of this episode. The intro sequence was exciting, suspenseful, and funny. It definitely started the episode out on the right foot.
There were so many great parts of this episode, and you guys hit on pretty much all of them. I think my favorite scene was the one with Amy and the video of the Angel. I also liked all the friendly bickering between River and the Doctor. The whole thing about the “boringers” and the parking brake was great.
The only thing I didn’t like about the episode was having to wait a week for the second part. I want to see it now. I should feel lucky though. Scott is right. Having to wait for the Christmas special after all these new episodes are done is going to kill me as well.
Great show guys, I enjoyed your latest podcast along with the latest episode of Doctor Who. I haven’t watch the confidential just yet but I am saving it for Friday. I just watch a small interview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLJImmGAFFQ) with Alex Kingston regarding his thoughts about coming back as River Song. A little extra information came during the interview. It looks like River Song also *SPOILER*.
This interview only gave me more questions and now I can’t wait for the next episode.
Also, I heard that *SPOILER*
Had to edit your post. If people wanted to know those spoilers, they could have looked them up. I didn’t know about the second spoiler, and honestly, I’m a bit upset that I do now.
Don’t post spoilers for stuff that hasn’t happened yet people!!
Sorry about that, I will be more cautious in the future.
No problem whatsoever, just glad it was me and not an unsuspecting first time visitor or something.
I liked this episode, but river still rubs me the wrong way… I did like her ALOT more this time and I can see growing into her aswell.
I would love the Adric thing to be true but I can’t see River being the ranni. The fact she kept a diary (I had more points but its late and im sleepy :()
I loved this episode, I didn’t get much sleep after it…. Darn you Steven Moffat. Didn’t Sally Sparrow take pictures of the Weeping Angels in Blink… so if an image of an angel is an actual angel, does that mean that the angels could come back in modern day England… my two cents. Loved the podcast, keep up the awesome work.
I felt like they kind of handwaved over that kind of thing by saying those angels where just weak scavengers, but its still a good loophole for future episodes.
Hey guys, great job with the show, just started with this one but of course I have to find some way to put in my two cents on the Doctor.
I don’t think that the Doctor has a problem with UNIT (or Torchwood), it’s just that he absolutely hates being saluted to.
Here’s one from Tennant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_Tj2ELHGsg
I also remember that this was also done recently in “The End of Time” when Donna’s Grandfather tracks him down and he reacts to the salute he gives him.
This is a great story device to show how humble and “down to earth” the Doctor really can be.
