I don't believe they did, before. Seems like something new. (See comments on part 2 for, probably, further discussion.)

I would like that too. Maybe give a heads up as to what episode they might review to give us a chance to watch them again to refresh our memory.

I just finished listening to the episode, and I thought you guys brought up a lot of good points. I really liked the episode-specific recap format, and I think it would be awesome to hear you guys go back and talk about some of the past episodes such as the Moffat ones and the various finales.

That wasn't too hard to accomplish. Definitely listen to what we had to say. I think I enjoyed it a bit more than Scott, but yeah. Good discussion. :)

I haven't listened to the podcast yet (but I'll get to it soon hopefully). I just wanted to comment that despite being somewhat lackluster for most of the running time, I've enjoyed this special more than the other ones this year....except perhaps for Waters of Mars. The ending to this one though was awesome.

I'm hoping that Timothy Dalton will have a lot of screen time in the second part.

I thoought you did a great job covering the episode. I will be looking forward to future podcasts. My problems with End of Time mirror most of yours. While I have high hopes for part two RTD's track record is against him. Most of his two parters start with an excellent part one while falling short on part two. I think he started too many threads, The Ood, Wilfred, Time Lords, The Master, Green Aliens, The Naismith's and a Regeneration. Still looking forward two part two but not sure how it will be done. Maybe the Doctor will regenerate into Keanu Reeves so he can stop all the Mister Saxxons.

Enjoyed the episode. The Infamous part of the master seemed kind of weird to me. Also was I the only one who didn't know the Time Lord race wanted to end time?

Fair point, he did sound like he was telling people about an event that happend long ago, wich wouldnt really make sence if he was talking about a plan to come back.

The smell has me stumped, it really does seem like something he added for conveniance.

Your probly more on the money about the way he was speaking to wilf, because when they shared that laugh I got the impression that he thought about him more as an old friend than a lesser person.

Fair call, I suppose with how big harry potter is, it may just be big enough to of made an impact on time in some small way.

Yeah I really feel like I could go back and rewatch older shows to hear more discussion like this (being the only one in my family and friends who watches the show its hard to find other peoples opinions who seem trustworthy).

I like your honest opinions and really feel that I learned more about something, or a new way to look at something in the episode because of how you seen it and I really enjoyed that.

I have hardly seen the older series, mainly because its so hard to find (I take that back, its more right to say its hard to find in order, most dvd's i see are collections of various episodes), but after the new show has been talked about id love to see some older episodes recaped.

Either way, you'll have my ears for each episode recap.

I am especially interested in how people felt about the episode. Do you enjoy the "complete recap" style of show that we did? I think that the show has more lasting appeal that way. If we walk through the show like that, someone can enjoy it, even if they haven't watched that particular episode in a while.

I felt that we still got a pretty healthy amount of discussion in.

That's kind of what I was thinking, in that if he went through all the trouble of making sure he could be resurrected, he could have came up with a way of marking her. Still, it was odd in how they did it, with the lipstick on a napkin.

I had actually forgot about Rose's monologue, but I hadn't rules out the possibility that it had happened before. But it had been quite a while, and best I recall, it had a different tone to it. This, as Scott said, was as if Timothy Dalton was telling a fairy tale.

Pertaining to the smell issue: That would make sense if it only went one way. But The Master also smelled The Doctor coming, when he decided to bang on the drums.

As far as Wilf and The Doctor discussing death: I actually took it somewhere between where Scott and you took it. Wilf obviously meant his "I'm going to die someday too" comment as a joke, to lighten The Doctor's mood about dying (IMO). I took the "Don't you dare" as a, "Don't you dare make this seem like nothing". Rather than "Don't you dare compare our deaths" or "Don't you dare talk about you dying".

Concerning He-Man: Harry Potter is VERY british. I think Scott's point was that He-Man didn't seem like it was. But having not lived there, I'm not sure. I'm going to have to assume that it was at least moderately popular there, seeing as how someone had to write the reference, and it was like Davies, or someone equally British.

I also always enjoy talk of a Time Lord's youth on Gallifrey. "Time Crash" reminding us that the First Doctor was actually the youngest of the incarnations (but liked to act like a grumpy old man) was amusing. I also loved, in "Gridlock" I think, the Doctor reminiscing about Gallifrey's orange skies and the silver leaves on its trees. Apparently that's actually a reference back to a First Doctor episode in which Susan describes her home planet in similar terms.

Checking message board discussion of the episode reminded me that we've seen a Time Lord leave his "imprint" on a human with a kiss before. The Doctor did it to Martha so that the Judoon scanners would register her as non-human in "Smith and Jones." While I doubt that was a permanent change, if the Master went so far as to start his own cult to insure his resurrection, I'm sure he could have managed to leave a more lasting imprint on Lucy.

When the Doctor mentioned that he had gotten married, he said he married "Good Queen Bess", which is a common title given to Queen Elizabeth the first. I thought this was a small wink to the fans, after the ending of The Shakespeare Code, where Elizabeth knows the Doctor and wants to kill him.

I agree with most of what you said about this episode, I found it very lackluster, but it set up part 2 really well and i love the way the second part seems to be shaping up, Docter has to stop the master, the master race, the timelords and see how he dies.

(I wrote this as I was listening and came up with points, so its alittle dissjointed)

When you said nobody had ever narrated an episode of Dr Who, what about rose narrorating the last 2 episodes of season 2.

When the master is talking to the homeless people about being smelled, I assumed the smell was maby something about the way he came back.

The talk between wilfred and the doctor was great, but when the doctor says "dont you dare" to wilf, I thought he was saying something like "dont you dare compare me to you" still being alittle arrogant.

Speaking of talking scenes, the doctor and the master talking about eachothers childhood was fantasic to me, I always love hearing about timelord speaking about being children (specificallu after seeing the short special when the doctor talks about the first older incantations of the doctor being young).

I think they ment the machine was from torchwood 1 from when they where still the evil company, because I'v never seen it in the show (Children of earth was amazing, and got me hungry for more)

You cant see the doctor watching he-man? He once said the last Harry potter made him cry?

I loved the masters smug little smiles as he was working on the machine and when he fixed it.

Oh dear god the master race was lame.....like.......c'mon.

wIll everybody in the "master race" have the masters new powers?

I hope to hell it picks up, and im hopefull it does, because like you said, i'd be worried if this is the way we say goodbye to tennant.

It does, yeah. Choose the "Play in new window" option. Works for me. I'll try and get the actual player back in the posts.

What's this? Three episodes in five days? When's the last time that happened? :P

Seriously though, I'm especially interested in seeing how everyone likes this episode. Since the focus on this show will be the episode coverage, this is the type of episodes that we need to make the most enjoyable.
