I am yet to listen to you guys but my I have a strong feeling that River Song is Amy Pond’s daughter.
how u guys watch it ? becouse it wasnt on BBCA or atless I didnt see it there
Im sure it was through ENTIRELY legitimate interweb sources,
I been looking for it and cant find out but that okay i can wait 8 more days to see it
Great episode. hes some random notes I took in a random order:
The new intro has already grown on me after 3 watchings.
I never noticed that the screen in the tardis looked like the crack in her wall, or that the shadow figure could of been someody else other than prisoner zero.
I just took from the “look in the mirror” comment that it was to remind her that she was dressed as a police woman.
I love how rory has been living in his shadow, going as far to try to be a doctor, and ending up as a nurse instead. Wich kind of makes me wonder if he later became a doctor himself and now they are getting married, so he might end up becomming her doctor.
**** POSSIBLE SPOILERS***** (realisticly who knows)
I dont think that river and amy are related…not by blood anyway. If you look up the episode with the weeping angels apparently the woman with the glasses in the previews is river….this could be fake its just what iv seen floating around the intertubes. It does seem to be the same actress.
I loved the stop motion camera effect as well. I was glad to see them touch on the technique during the Confidential episode so that non-animators would be able to see how they did it. I’ve seen some cool videos on YouTube that use a similar–albeit much more amateur–technique, such as Tony vs Paul (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJzU3NjDikY). Tony vs Paul uses the technique to move the characters rather than the camera through the environment, but it is done in the same way.
Hey Scott, do you think that Matt Smith’s new sonic screwdriver qualifies as a “seafoam green”?
I have to admit, when I first saw the dress hanging in the closet at the end of the episode, I thought it was just another of Amy’s costumes at first. It took me a second (and the preview montage actually) to figure out it was more than that.
I’m not a fan of Dr Who though i like the odd episode. However love the podcast kinda makes me want to watch it more. Found the season 5 opener awesome, better than i was expecting. I don’t know what to think anymore
I loved this episode and absolutely take back everything I said about Matt Smith’s flock of seagulls hair. The more I think about it the more I think Silence might be a place.. somewhere he’s been protecting.. I don’t know.. I had a great time watching this episode and it was such a romp. I absolutely can’t wait for the next episode (both of Doctor Who and of this show).
The BBC just announced that they will be releasing four free Doctor Who adventure computer games. They’ve dubbed them as four “interactive episodes”. I think it is an interesting idea, but it will all hinge on how well it is executed. Considering that they will be free, I’m not expecting a whole lot, but hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

BBC + Free = Me Worried.
But:

“Showrunner Steven Moffat will be involved, as a producer, and the episodes will be written by “Waters Of Mars” co-writer Phil Ford and Torchwood: Children Of Earth co-writer James Moran. Matt Smith and Karen Gillan will voice the Doctor and Amy, and the games will be developed by Sumo Digital. Also involved? Charles Cecil, co-founder of Revolution Software, who developed the Broken Sword series of adventure games, which feature twisty storylines and engrossing puzzles. So all in all, it’s looking good.”
“There aren’t 13 episodes of Doctor Who this year,” adds Piers Wenger, Head of Drama, BBC Wales and Executive Producer, Doctor Who. “There are 17 – four of which are interactive. Everything you see and experience within the game is part of the Doctor Who universe: we’ll be taking you to places you’ve only ever dreamed about seeing – including locations impossible to create on television.”
Intriguing.
Is this the “Red Button” episodes? If so I think Sarah Douglas(Usla for Superman 2) is doing one of the voices.
Here is something I just realized while re-watching the “The Eleventh Hour”. It is regarding Jeff. The way The Doctor talked to him while he borrowed Jeff’s computer made me remember a lot the way Steve (from Coupling) would talk with Jeff (from Coupling).
So, finally watching it 2 weeks later, I had some thoughts.
1.) You have talked about Amy Pond in previous podcasts, but MY GOD she is cute. Both in her character’s personality and the actress herself. Then add in the accent….get out of town. I love this chick. She’s gonna be fun. Amy’s sarcasm and a touch of punk attitude, I think I’m going to look forward to this companion.
2.) I know you don’t have time to reference every line in the episode, but you missed one of my favorite lines.
Amy is defending her job as a “kiss-a-gram”.
Doctor: You were just a little girl!
Amy: You sound as bad as my aunt!!
Doctor: I’m the Doctor! I’m WORSE than everybody’s aunt!!
HAHAHAHA. Awesome. It’s what sold me on Matt Smith so far. He has that basic, overall, “Doctor” personality down pretty well.
1> I know, right? The looks, the accent, and the total spunk. I couldn’t ask for better!
2> I did actually want to mention that line, but before I remembered, we had already moved past that part. I didn’t feel it was worth derailing the conversation to go back to. :)
I just re-watched this episode. Just to see if there is anything new that I haven’t seen before. Since I remember hearing from Stephen Moffat that “This episode has a bunch of hidden things”. After watching the first 8 episode of the current series I kind of made a connection with the Dream Lord on the first series.
It occurs while the Doctor is waking up after he got hit by Amy in the head, one can clearly hear the birds singing just like when on “Amy’s Choice” there were birds singing every time our heroes jumped from dream to dream.
I can’t wait to finish this episode all over again :O
That’s really interesting… can’t wait to find out what that could mean…
It’s all a dream! Somebody wake up Mario! ;)
This would kind of explain why she does not remember the Dalek, she was still to young to remember them. If young Amelia is dreaming of a complete new reality that she created and somehow the Doctor enter that reality, through her dreams.
I just remember that dialog at the end of episode one where the Doctor says : “I am inside her head because I am talking to her”, when prisoner Zero took the form of whatever Amy was dreaming.
Could it be that the Doctor with a Jacket that appear just after the Doctor with out a a Jacket left was a manifestation of the Doctor speaking to Amy while she was sleeping?
Believe it or not but when Amy said she had “stuff” happening tomorrow and she needed to be back, and it had been two years, I sarcastically thought to myself ‘I bet she’s getting married”…and then it turned out she was. Complete fluke but I wasn’t overly surprised by it, but I also still really loved it.
Really enjoying the podcast!
