Veronica Mars Movie Stalled But Not Forgotten

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Series creator Rob Thomas updates fans on the status of the Veronica Mars movie.

In regards to what’s been done on getting our favorite teenage sleuth onto the big screen, creator Rob Thomas seems to be having trouble finding the time to finish the outline:

“I thought I had the idea broken, but I’ve hit a wall in the final act that I haven’t quite figured out. And with Cupid” and “Party Down” occupying 80 hours a week, and a new baby boy occupying the remaining hours, I haven’t nailed it down. I’m hopeful that I can find the time to figure it out over the Christmas holidays.”

It’s understandable that his focus would be on his paying gigs, but I really hope this becomes a reality in the next couple of years. Veronica Mars herself, Kristin Bell, is already pushing 30 years old, and considering the film is supposed to be a direct follow-up to the series with Veronica still in college(rather than the flash forward that was talked about for ill-fated season four), they need to get cracking.

Oh who am I kidding? They could make this ten years from now and I’d still be there with bells on…
