Three Stooges Movie Has…”Interesting” Cast…
Sunday, March 29th, 2009
The Farrelly Brothers’ revamp of the Three Stooges have supposedly found its Stooges.According to sources ranging from The Hollywood Reporter to the Av Club, the directors of There’s Something About Mary and Fever Pitch have cast Sean Penn as Larry, Jim Carrey as Curly and Benicio Del Toro as Moe. Yes, I know, it’s an odd direction.
But be honest, you’re interest in the film just shot up, didn’t it? Besides, after watching Milk, I’ve decided to no longer doubt Sean Penn when it comes to transformative acting. Keep in mind, this isn’t a biopic; the film will be an honest-to-God broad comedy about starring the Three Stooges.

Wow, I always thought it was a biopic, but the cast looks awesome and if it’s the Farrelly’s then I’m there, I’ve loved most of their work.
Hm. Intriguing to say the least. Although I have no real love of the Stooges (it’s one of the few things ‘girly’ I can’t seem to shake from my persona.) I’d be totally into seeing those three play them. They must all be fans I guess, which usually makes for a good portrayal.
I dont get the stooges personally, but I get the slapstick humour that they did….sadly since I think ALOT of bad comedy movies have been influenced by them they will have to do something differant.
The cast is ok…. I despise Jim Carrey in comedy movies as I find him just WAY over the top (givin the material I take it thats the whole reason he was hired for this movie). Del Toro and Penn are solid castings in my mind but wasnt Depp in talks to be in Penn’s role?
Interesting. It will nice to see Penn not take himself so seriously for once, in a long time.
I actually have the biggest problem with Carey, but he is funny, so he should be good I guess.
Benicio is the man, so I love that choice.
And I love the Stooges and the Ferelly’s so I’m there.
Well…that’s certainly interesting.
Interesting is about all I can muster up at the moment. This will either be the most brilliant thing ever or a huge train wreck of a movie. For some reason, I’m leaning towards the latter, but I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what they come up with.
