UPDATED:’The Flash’ Coming To Theaters After All?

UPDATED: This has been official debunked by numerous sources as 100% false. It’s apparently just a very elaborate hoax. How they played the supposedly fan-made trailer in a theater, in surround sound, with an audience reacting to everything as it happened on screen is beyond me, but kudos I guess.
A fan, who wishes to remain anonymous due to a non-disclosure agreement he was forced to sign, contacted me about attending a private screening of Watchmen in Portland. Before the film started a teaser/announcement trailer ran prior to the start of the film. It was for an apparent adaptation of The Flash.
No, I think the trailer looks pretty legit. It reminds me a lot of that Spider-Man teaser where Spidey webs up the bank robbers between the World Trade Center towers. I’m not saying anything for sure, but it was definitely filmed with a camera phone or something in a theater. If this is completely fan-made, then this is a really impressive presentation. I haven’t heard anything about this trailer anywhere, though, and we just talked on the latest episode of Two Geeks about producer Charles Roven claiming that there was no movement on a Flash film.
With all this in mind, I’m a HUGE fan of The Flash, and I’m absolutely beside myself with excitement over this trailer (fan-made or not really…) but equally confused. Regardless, I’m posting it here. Let me know what you guys think!

I’m guessing fan made… but i don’t know, it’s possible that its real… I hope so
I want to believe…
Fucking Sweet! But… it does look like it could possibly be fan made. I think it’s due to the somewhat crude looking trail teh Flash leaves behind. May just be the quality of the video fooling me, but I still have my doubts. I would love it if it was true though.
Now all they need to do is just give us a kick ass teaser for the Green Lantern. I know how I would do it. Show a picture of space and just keep slowly fading in and out of the Green Lantern motto, and then finish it showing the Green Lantern’s ring zooming out revealing the Green Lantern and then have him fly through space. That would be an awesome teaser for the Green Lantern for me.
Yep, definitely looks fan-made. I was about to seriously become a doubter at the ability to make decent special effects in Hollywood.
Wow. I can’t believe someone went to all that effort to do this.
But it wouldn’t be too difficult to do, if you worked in/had access to a theater with a digital projector. Just have them run it for you, have a bunch of friends in the background screaming and make sure your camera phone is jerky.
Seems like a whole lotta effort though.
I read someone else’s comment on Black20’s site (where I first saw this trailer) and they made a good point: “the shear fact that the audience did not explode into applause at the words wally west makes me know its a fake”
Plus the voice of the news caster at the beginning sounds incredibly fake, and by that I mean it sounds like some college kid doing his best impression of a professional voice. The voice of the Flash wasn’t too bad though.
