I agree, there is really no need to a prequel. I enjoy the “mystery” behind the aliens. I had head that Cameron and Scott were both extremely disappointed with the state of the franchise (rightfully so)…maybe that is why Scott has become interested again?

The hardest part about this is how you make a prequel to a film that was supposed to be about our “first encounter” with the alien? Do you think he’ll focus on the giant petrified “alien” we saw in the first film and how it came to be?

Isn’t the point of a remake or reboot to make the movie better? Or to provide a different take? So, why would Scott remake his own movie… Unless he thought there was something wrong with the first one or wanted to do something different. And I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought the first one was awesome and needs no improvement. I don’t get why he would do this…

Yeah I read an article a few weeks back where Sigorney Weaver said she turned it down because it was her impression that she had never seen an alien before part one, so her being in a prequel made no sense.

I haven’t seen the aliens movies in a while, was there any indication that they were created and not just a natural evolution?
I’m hoping that a prequel wouldn’t go in that direction because it would just kinda ruin it for me.

I am torn on this one, I LOVE tha movie so very much….and I think it holds up well enough that a remake would be redundant…….but at the same time I aways want to see more Aliens.

Id be intrested to see who they cast

Ridley Scott doesn’t get involved in making a film unless there is something interesting there that he wants to explore. I hope that he’s found a compelling reason to return to the Alien universe, and I hope it results in a great film.

The original Alien is a great movie. Aliens is also great, just in a different way. Alien 3 is completely underrated, and it still manages to be a good movie despite all the behind-the-scenes shenanigans during its production. I even enjoy Alien Resurrection, although is is the worst of the lot by far.

I am really looking forward to another Alien movie that doesn’t involve Predators in some way.
