Neve Campbell Said No to Scream 4

Despite reports that the fourth Scream film would be the beginning of a new trilogy, the series screenwriter Kevin Williamson recently revealed on Twitter that Sidney Prescott was supposed to be in the film.
The tweet read as followed
“Trying to figure out a Sid-less scenario. She won’t do it. This sucks.”
Up until this point, we were under the assumption that the only returning Scream vets would be The Arquettes; Courntey Cox as Gail Weathers and David as Dewey Riely. But apparently the Scream Queen was part of the mix was well. What part was she going to play in this semi-reboot? Will it matter now that Campbell won’t do it? Are you guys excited for a return to the Scream series?

If Williamson is clever enough he’d know that that would be the best thing for Scream 4- after all didn’t Heather Langenkamp not make it past Nightmare 3? (Barring a return in New Nightmare which didn’t really count) Didn’t Jamie Lee Curtis skip out on Halloween 3-6?
If anything Neve Campbell not wanting to be in anymore Scream movies makes perfect sense in a genre satirizing series. (I’ve always thought the moans and groans over “another sequel” are just as deliciously fitting)
I really don’t think Scream needs another sequel, it’s just turning into what it made fun of to begin with.
not that it shouldn’t have sequels, it’s lost its satirical edge, it’s an actual horror movie now.
I like all of the current Scream movies (yes, even the inferior third part), so I’m not opposed to another one. I just hope they can find a clever way to make it actually good.
There’s a rumour that Sid was going to be the killer in the fourth one
you see I have no interest in that at all, sure she’s been through a lot but it would completely negate what she was in the first movies and revisiting them would be weird because you’d be thinking “this chick grows up to be a killer, really?”
ummmmm i think scream 4 would be a excellent film w/ or w/out neve . Dont get me wrong i clove neve but she wants and has to move on and they actullay do make a 4th one please do not have a sidney charecter that is played by another actress just say sid died and move on.
