Marvel Takes It Slow
Sunday, March 15th, 2009
Marvel Studios recently semi-officially announced that they’re pushing back most of their upcoming films by a year or so. In fact, the only Marvel movies who still have their old release date are Wolverine and Iron Man 2. Thor will now hit theaters June 17th, 2011, instead of 2010 and the big ol’ Avengers movie will now come out May 4th, 2012. The First Avenger: Captain America has also been pushed back, but only by a couple of months; from May 6th, to July 22nd of 2011.
I have to say I’m mostly relieved by this. For a while It looked like it was going to take a miracle to pull of so many action-packed blockbusters on such a short string of time. Now Marvel’s got some breathing room.
Oh, they also announced that Spiderman 4 will be released on May 6th, 2o11, Cap’s old release date.

Y The Last Man Vol. 5In this final Deluxe Edition hardcover collecting Y #49-60, Yorick and Agent 355 prepare for their ultimate quest to reunite the last man with his lost love, while the person, people or thing behind the disaster that wiped out half of humanity is revealed. Then, Yorick Brown's long journey through an Earth populated only by women comes to its dramatic, unexpected conclusion.

I’m very pleased to here this too. With DC, it seems like they focus on one project at a time. Usually this one project is either really good (Batman Begins/Dark Knight) or not so good (Superman Returns), but always there head is in one place with one character. I think Marvel needs to take their time with each project as opposed to crunching them out seeing as how (presumably) they only get one shot at making a movie based on these characters (excluding sequels).
A quick note about Spider-Man 4. I read this in a article
“The helmer said that they are closing in on Spider-Man’s adversary or adversaries for the fourth pic. “All the characters or villains or villains, whatever we decide to do will be from Stan Lee’s creations or those that came after him,” he said.”
Haha, can you seriously get any more vague that that…
“Any of the things we use will be from spiderman”
Im guessing they are just saying that there wont be any original movie characters/villains
There’s also going to be reboots of Daredevil and The Fantastic Four.

So I guess they’re not gonna use the Spider-man/Battlestar Galactica fanfic screenplay I sent in. Why are people so close minded?
The only requirement to get me on board for that would be to get Katee Sackhoff to punch Kirsten Dunst in the face….repeatedly. ;)
Really? Katee Sakhoff? Hadn’t even thought of that…
Hey, if you’re gonna do a Battlestar/Spider-Man crossover, you’ve got to do it right! :D
ahem…Sackhoff…..
Sackoff… Za-Cough… It doesn’t matter because in my script Starbuck was played by none other than Mr.Dirk Benedict.
I only write fanfic about original properties.
As long as Kirsten Dunst gets punched, I’m happy.
