Y The Last Man Vol. 5In this final Deluxe Edition hardcover collecting Y #49-60, Yorick and Agent 355 prepare for their ultimate quest to reunite the last man with his lost love, while the person, people or thing behind the disaster that wiped out half of humanity is revealed. Then, Yorick Brown's long journey through an Earth populated only by women comes to its dramatic, unexpected conclusion.

I think these look absolutely great. After seeing these I’m really anticipating this one!
OMG…..They’re damn near perfect…..NOW I’m excited.
Those definitely look much better than the crappy publicity photo on the cover of Entertainment Weekly I saw earlier today. The only thing I don’t like is Spock’s haircut. You can’t really see it in these pictures very well, but I think his bangs look a bit odd. That minor nitpick aside, I think everything looks pretty dang good.
Now when are we going to get an actual trailer for this thing!?
Apparently the trailer will come with Quantum of Solace.
Meh….
*total loser trekkie moment*
I can’t help but look at that second pic and think, “My name is not Spock! My name is SYLAR!!!”
Looks awesome, I’m really interested in this one, better be more like Wrath of Khan rather than Search for Spock
Jack, if you’re going to make a comparison to a bad Star Trek movie, don’t just go with mediocre. Go all the way… “The Final Frontier”.
Wow. I totally didn’t mean for that to sound so lame haha. Still though, ST3 wasn’t all bad. ST5 definitely was.
What are everybody’s favorite Trek movies?
ST1: Motion Picture – While the story isn’t the best, this is still a pretty good movie, especially on the visual side.
ST2: Wrath of Khan – This one deserves all the love that it gets.
ST3: Search for Spock – This one isn’t as bad as everyone seems to think it is. I actually enjoy it quite a bit.
ST4: Voyage Home – This one is kind of fun, but I don’t think it is as good as some people seem to think it is. I think I actually like ST3 better than this one.
ST5: Final Frontier – WTF!? Seriously, what were they thinking when they made this one? Blech!
ST6: Undiscovered Country – I really like this one. The plot isn’t the most original, but the movie is very well made.
ST7: Generations – I also really like this one. It gets bonus points for having Malcolm McDowell as the villain.
ST8: First Contact – I loved this when it first came out, but it hasn’t aged very well. I still like it, but not as much.
ST9: Insurrection – This one was pretty forgettable.
ST10: Nemesis – I had high hopes for this when I saw the trailers for it, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. Plus the stupid crap they did with Data really bugged me.
So, if I had to pick the ones I like the most, I would go with Undiscovered Country and Wrath of Khan.
I wasn’t sure what to think about a new Trek movie when they announced it, but the more I see, the more hopes I have for it.
Hmm favorite treks…..
ST1: Bores me to death.
ST2: The standard bearer by which all SciFi should be measured
ST3: Most like the Original Series in regards to tone and pacing
ST4: Amazing movie, wierd star trek movie. Time travel plots are always solid tho
ST5: Bores me to death.
ST6: Pretty freakin good. I think this might be the most epic of the original 6
ST7: Not as bad as people make it out to be. Agreed that McDowell helps make the movie. But the chemistry between Kirk and Picard is great too.
ST8: Another scifi standard. Everyone on earth should see this one.
ST9: Very DS9ish.
ST10: Ok, I cried when data died. I was in middle school, leave me alone.
I’ve never seen any of them
ST1: Too slow paced and the ending is annoying, but it’s still reasonably entertaining.
ST2: The best TOS movie. The only problem is that is has five plots conceived by five different writers all shoehorned together. That being said, each of those plots was awesome.
ST3: Pretty good but, by airing right after The Wrath of Khan it kind of cheapens it. If there had been another movie between them it would have been more successful.
ST4: Good in the same way as the 1966 Batman movie.
ST5: Pain.
ST6: Most of the movie is on par with The Wrath of Khan, but there are a few really annoying bits scattered about.
ST7: My personal favorite Star Trek movie. It’s got Data activating the emotion chip, the Duras sisters being grossed out by how ugly human women are, and Kirk and Picard making eggs. What’s not to like?
ST8: A close second to Generations. The new ship was awesome, as was Zefram Cochrane and Data’s assimilation. Plus, this is the closest the borg ever come to actually making sense.
ST9: The Gilbert & Sullivan scene was great. The rest of the movie, not so much.
GQ: All-time classic.
ST10: Remember, back before Iron Man and The Dark Knight came out, when people thought that the only to win new fans was to deliberately alienate your current fans? Man, that was weird.

“GQ: All-time classic.”
What’s GQ?
GALAXY QUEST!!! THE BEST EVER!!!
Kirk looks far too young compared to the rest of the crew. Looks like he needs to go hang out with the Dawson’s Creek cast.
As far as favorite movies go, First Contact is easily my favorite with Generations and Insurrection coming in slightly behind Nemesis for my least favorite. Most of the ToS movies just sort of blend together for me. Khan and Voyage are my favorites.
OH! OH! I want to do mine too as one of the true blue trekkies around here.
ST1: Wow, that long shot of the Enterprise was cools, huh? Yeah, that’s kinda all that movie had going for it….
*ST2*: KAAAAHHHHHHN!!!!!!!! When we did it as a midnight for the show I started cheering when that happens and it made the rest of the theater follow suit. :P Also, in my home, no one is allowed to speak when Spock dies. It’s too emotional for me. Close tie in for best moment (after Kahn scream): the Shakespeare quoting. And Chekov nearly dies, that’s always a positive. Damn you Chekov….
ST3: To be fair it’s like having to have to follow Led Zeppelin or something. After the brilliance of Wrath of Kahn how can anything ever be as good? Plus, it cheapened the end of Kahn. Honestly, either Spock shoulda stayed dead or they never should have killed him in the first place. I haven’t seen this one in forever, was Chekov involved much? I bet he was….
ST4: So silly and fun. Honestly, the only time intentional humor ever worked in Trek. Although damn Chekov….
ST5: Ugh, that’s the one where Spock’s brother shows up and they go to the center of the galaxy? Yeah, that’s about as much as I’m pulling from that one.
ST6: It’s a bit heavy handed but I still love it and I think it has great meaning to this day.
ST7: It has it’s moments. And it’s a fair death for Kirk I think. It’s kinda hit or miss.
ST8: The best of the Picard movies. The Borg at their finest, and all the stuff with Zefram Cochran being a dick was great.
ST9: A slightly bigger budget subpar episode of TNG. But in movie form. Literally, nothing special.
ST10: We had hope you know? We thought… even number, all the even number ones are good! We were so naive back then. Eh, at least they had the balls to kill Data. Hallelujah.
And Galaxy Quest is a brilliant movie.
See, that was one of the things from Nemesis that annoyed the crap out of me. They didn’t really have the balls to kill of Data. It’s almost like putting the beginning of Search for Spock right at the end of Khan. He dies, and then he’s right back there again. Sure, it’s not technically the same Data, but it just came off as cheap and stupid to me.
I concur with everyone on Galaxy Quest. That movie rules.
*snort* I saw Nemesis exactly once. In the theater when it came out. I totally didn’t remember he came back (kinda sorta).
I’ve honestly never liked Data. But then it always annoyed me when people do stories about robots wanting to be human. It’s just like, “I, Robot” was a great story, so can we please stop rehashing it? It’s kinda why I love Terminator so much. Machines=evil. There’s no gray area. They are bad, they are the apocalypse we wrought. They don’t pine for souls or want to have emotions, they just want to kill us.
I’m actually a fan of Nemesis. But First Contact is defintely my favorite.
“You told him about the statue?”
I think First Contact is the perfect blend of action, comedy, drama, horror, and many other film genres. It’s definitely a solid A+ movie. my personal favorite of the series as well.
Wow….too much geekiness at once. Cannot compute! Kind of wish I knew anything about these movies.
