Casting Rumors: Hal and Hex

Two of the most recent casting rumors concern Green Lantern’s Hal Jordan, and Jonah Hex from the self titled comic. Keep reading for the scoop:
The Notebook star Ryan Gosling is, according to Latino Review, Warner Bros. Pictures’ first choice for the role of Hal Jordan. Hal is a second-generation test pilot who was given the Green Lantern power ring and battery by a dying alien named Abin Sur. When Abin Sur’s spaceship crashed on Earth, the alien used his ring to seek out an individual to take his place as Green Lantern: someone who would “overcome great fear”. The Green Lantern, written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Michael Green, will be directed by Berlanti and is currently eyeing an early 2009 start date.
Originally reported as rumor, but recently confirmed by Variety, W. star Josh Brolin has been cast as Jonah Hex in the adaptation from Crank writers/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. Jonah Hex is based on the DC Comics title in which Hex, known for having the right side of his face disfigured and wearing a Confederate army uniform, was a rough-and-tumble gunslinger and part-time bounty hunter whose adventures always ended in blood

Blegh, forget Gosling!
I’m no Green Lantern fan, but I was at least interested in seeing it when they were talking about David Boreanaz. Gosling? No, just no, not even gonna bother.
Goslin’s too small.
Also, Goslin would be a better Flash than Green Lantern.
If Gosling is too small, than Boreanaz is too big. Honestly, I’d be fine with Gosling as Green Lantern.
Boreanaz isn’t too big or too small. He’s just right.
