The following story can be found on the Movie News section of msn.com. All quotes used here were from that article, which was written by the Associated Press, with additional reporting by the Orange County Register.Like a lot of kids, Colby Cullens wanted to see the latest Pixar movie, Up. But Colby was sick. She was diagnosed with vascular cancer in 2005 and by  and  by June 9th, she was much too sick to travel to a movie theater to see the film, but still wanted to see it greatly.  A family friend of the Cullens manged to get in touch with Pixar Animation Studios and tell the company about Colby’s condition. Pixar responded by sending an employee to Colby’s hospital, along with a DVD of Up, along with stuffed animals and merchandise of the film’s charecters

“When I watched it, I had really no idea about the content of the theme of the movie,” Colby’s mother told the Orange County Register. “I just know that word ‘Up’ and all of the balloons and I swear to you, for me it meant that (Colby) was going to go up. Up to heaven.”

At this point, Colby’s condition has worsened to the point that the 10-year-old girl was unable to open her eyes. Her mother described the scenes to Colby as the film played. The movie ended, Colby said that she enjoyed it and the Pixar employee left with the DVD.

Later that night, Colby died in the hospital, her parents by her side.

Among the toys and merchandise the Pixar employee left for Colby, there was a “My Adventure Book,” like the one shared by Carl and Ellie in the film. The mother promised to fill the book with adventures, in honor of her daughter.
