Merry Christmas Geeks!!
Thursday, December 25th, 2008
Hey Geeks, Scott here. I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone very Merry Christmas and just a general Happy Holidays to everyone. It’s a time filled joy, presents, and (for us geeks anyway) Doctor Who.
Did you get some great geek gifts this year? Tell us about in the comments below.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! Hope you have a great day!
I guess my best geek gift thus far is our new HD TV, Blu-Ray player, and Firefly on Blu-Ray. Really, is there anyway better to christen the Blu-Ray player?
Is it sad that I’ve been counting down days until Doctor Who and not Christmas? :P
ANyway, about to head over to my mother’s, where I highly doubt any geeky presents will be had, but oh well.
Merry Christmas!
I got the first season of Dr Who (the relaunch, I cant watch the old ones for some reason), after waching 2 episodes and all the recomendations on here I cant wait to start, and i just seen seasons 1-4 are 1/2 price right now so it wont be long till im caught up now.
I got some nice stuff, the original Addams Family series 1, a blu-ray of Get Smart, Gossip Girl and Chuck season 1, the guide to guirrilea film making and Tron on DVd, just because it was cool. Nothing big this year but some sweet grabbings.
Merry Chistmas you crazy kids.
Oh, and the new episode of Geek By Night was a pretty awesome gift from the guys at geekshow
As far as geeky gifts go, I got a Wacom Tablet, Kirby Superstar Ultra for the DS, Fables Volume 1, and Wonder Woman Tee shirt. Non-geeky gifts: pjs, a sweater, sheets and cosmetics.
also, forgot to add, merry christmas (or Hanukkah if you’re jewish) everybody.
I had a pretty good hall this year. DVD-wise, I got Lost season 4, Doctor Who season 4, and The Universe season 1. I also got some nice comic collections. I got the new Joker hardcover, the Y: The Last Man deluxe HC volume 1, and the Absolute Sandman volume 1. Finally, I got Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World for the Wii.
Some great stuff. I’m loving Y: The Last Man so far. Plus, thanks for the Doctor Who reminder; it totally slipped my mind.
I got a rock.
SpikeBad, that wasn’t rock…
rock of coal?
I got mostly mature healthy stuff… But I did get a sonic screwdriver. It made my day. I also snagged Iron Man on DVD from my aunt and a Buffy 09 calendar for Hanukkah.
I got Prince of Persia, Fallout 3, The Dark Knight and best of all, a copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard.
i got the official watchmen poster, in the frame from the movies and a bunch of comic book movies
I got Ender in Exile (a new sequel to Ender’s Game), A Bug’s Life DVD, Kung Fu Panda DVD, Prince of Persia for the 360, and a $25 gift certificate to the movie theater. I also got to borrow my friend’s PS2 so I can play Shadow of the Colossus. :D
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to everybody! :D
I got Lich king , Mario Kart Wii, a discworld quiz book, Welcome to the Jungle Jim Butcher, Dark Kinght, a Smiths gift card which will probability be going on Doctor Who: Battlefield next week and the Old Harry’s Game Series 1 and 2 CD Boxset
After returning from my parent’s I can add a Wonder Woman Necklace, Wonder Woman Pajama pants, Wonder Woman “Amazon’s Guide for the Working Woman,” and some 20-sided fuzzy dice for my car to my list of geeky gifts. I would have gotten a remote control K-9, but they were unfortunately out of stock! ::crosses fingers for birthday::
Surprisingly my sister got me the Marvel Encyclopedia for Christmas. When I opened it she was all “I hope you don’t already have it…” But I didn’t (don’t usually since they’re so pricey) and I was heartily surprised.
Only geeky gift though. My mother paid a bill for me (terribly thankful for that, mind you) and that’s about it…
Oh well, Christmas is just better when you’re a kid I guess. :)
I got Band Of Brothers on blu-ray…which is what I was looking forward to. otherwise I mostly got an assortment of liquor movie tickets and some random objects.
Happy holidays to all! Hope everything went well for everyone!
I got tons of trades (Invincible, Walking Dead, Astro City) as well as the complete run so far of Supernatural and Chuck on DVD. Gears 2 has surprised me with how much fun the Horde mode is. I also got a Nerd Herd shirt, beer, and a “F— Communism” lighter from the Preacher books (probably my favorite one but don’t tell the others).
I also got this years grand card for the movies, 1/2 price movies all year *squee*
Ahem I had a great Christmas mostly due to some errors on the part of a gaming store…anyway
I got:
Fallout 3
BK: Nuts and Bolts
GOW 2
Left for Dead
Gift card to Gamestop
Beedle the Bard
and…the best part…a way to watch The Next Doctor!
So both you and TNN got Fallout 3. Are you going to talk about it on your show, or is that Randy and Wayne’s turf?
I’m not usually that big of a gamer, but I just got a new PC after having an old one for a while which couldn’t run anything new. Fallout 3 is high up on my list.
Merry Xmas everyone.
I got Dark Knight, Kung Fu Panda on blu ray, Avatar Book 3 on DVD, and Mirror’s Edge for the 360. Oh and a handy blu ray player, hehe.
Pre-ordered Serenity, and ordered Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Sarah Conner season 1 on blu ray (SCC was on sale on Amazon for 19.99$, couldn’t pass that up).
BTW, I watched 2 episodes of Firefly today on Blu Ray. The show looks fantastic in 1080p and the BR set is really cool (very neat interactive menu) and I think some more extra stuff though I haven’t dug into too much. Not sure if I’d pay 70$ for it, but if it’s on sale (like it was for me, 45$) and you’re a big Browncoat, then pick it up.
So does anyone know when the Dr. Who Xmas episode airs in the States? Or should I just um, wait for it to appear magically on my hard drive?
the second option will probably occur sooner than the first one, no release date has been slated on the special
The Doctor Who Christmas special was great. Hope you guys in the States don’t have to wait too long. Christmas is not quite the same in July.
I got the Dark Knight on Bluray, but the geekiest thing I got was a Pixar-style desk lamp.
I also got TDK on Bluray… but that Pixar lamp sounds AWESOME! I didn’t even know they made those!!
Im going to ad this to my twitter.
