Geek By Night wants YOU!
Hey Geeks, Scott here. Just wanted to let everyone know that I’m casting 3 new roles on Geek By Night, and I want everyone that might be interested to audition. The characters will be first appearing in a 2-part episode this season, so we’ll need to cast them quick! The roles are as follows:
Fancy Dave
Description: Male, 30-40 years old.
This guy wears a suit to take out his garbage. He is loquacious and seemingly erudite, but underneath his large vocabulary is a thoroughly average intelligence. Dave comes from a mundane background- middle class all the way-, but has tailored an image of sophistication that most mistakenly believe is meant to hide a rough, low class upbringing; the guy’s socially confused and others are confused by him.
This guy is wide open for interpretation. We’d like to hear some stereotypical NY/NJ gangster speak a’la Fat Tony from the Simpsons, but we’re willing to accept Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels of gangster Brit or generic I’m-pissed-off-I-can’t-work-for-the-KGB-anymore Eastern European. Also a possibility, southern gent, but that may get Dave a little mixed up with Idaho- give it a shot if ya like.
Idaho
Description: Male, 30-40 years old
From deep in the wastes of the rural United States- I’m not entirely sure yet, but somewhere that’s given him a thick accent- hails Idaho! Idaho is a stereotypically genial redneck capable of horrible violence when angered. Likes to project a ruthless image to those outside the Forcers, but for the most part it’s just talk. Get him mad though and he may eat your liver with some sphaggetios and a box of wine.
Yak
Description: Male, 30-40 years old
Below average intelligence, and that’s putting it nicely. Yak’s an illiterate, giant, childish, brute capable of horrific violence while making up a nursery rhyme. He can focus when he has to and come off as more intelligent by virtue of keeping his trap shut, but when he’s just with Idaho and Dave or in the middle of a job Yak can’t bring himself to concentrate on that many things so he babbles like a kindergartener, sings songs, and is generally an idiot.
If you’re interested in trying out, send an email to audition@geekshow.us and let me know which character(s) you’re interested in. I will then send you the audition sheet with examples of dialogue. Get them recorded and sent back to me ASAP and I will make a casting decision by March 6.
THANKS EVERYONE!!

I’m really looking forward to these auditions.
Man, if I weren’t so busy right now, I might put an audition together. A couple of those roles sound like they could be a lot of fun to do.
I’d love to audition but the email address does not seem to work
It had spaces in it to cut back on spam. But I went ahead and fixed it anyway. Should be copy/paste-able now
my email still gets bounced straight back
I’m getting other people’s emails just fine. So, I don’t know what to tell you. Try sending it to my personal email: scott@geekshow.us
I sent it without the s on auditions and received a reply.
The email is fixed now. Weird…
I remember sending my last lot of auditions to this, read, recorded and sent completely drunk, haha, I might skip this one….but then again the weekends nearly here.
I like the sound of some of these characters.
Well, I’m done, I hope you like ‘em
I would do this, but i will not have my computer after Tuesday so maybe next time…
any news on this yet?
Not yet, a few of us have to get together to discuss it, and we haven’t had time to that.
Should be soon.
