Couch Surfing Reunion
Thursday, February 11th, 2010
Yup, definitely one of the signs of the apocolypse…
Hey Geeks!
Just wanted to let you know that I recently recorded an episode of Couch Surfing with John Pavlich where we talked about what happened with Geek By Night from when John left to its cancelation. This of course marks a reunion of sorts for the two us, having started the show together two years ago right here on Geekshow until I ultimately quit 12 episodes in. It was nice to get a lot of stuff off my chest, and I hope you all enjoy getting a little more detail about all the behind the scenes drama of Geek By Night. Check it out and let us know what you thought of it. Hopefully, I will be surfing plenty more couches in the future…
You can get the episode here.

Y The Last Man Vol. 5In this final Deluxe Edition hardcover collecting Y #49-60, Yorick and Agent 355 prepare for their ultimate quest to reunite the last man with his lost love, while the person, people or thing behind the disaster that wiped out half of humanity is revealed. Then, Yorick Brown's long journey through an Earth populated only by women comes to its dramatic, unexpected conclusion.
Really enjoyed this episode. U 2 play off each other very well. Glad to see you doing things together again.
It was really interesting to hear you guys talk about GbN, especially some of the behind the scenes insights into your creative processes. Both of your thoughts on the cancellation of the show were also nice to hear.
I think it sucks that you’ve gotten hate mail over this. Personally, I will always feel grateful that I got to listen to a fun podcast no matter how long it ended up lasting. I find it amazing that you were able to get ten complete episodes out there considering how many people it takes to create each episode. It’s hard enough to organize a large project when everyone is in one place. I can only imagine how much that working remotely through the internet on a complex project such as GbN compounds the difficulty.
There are plenty of us out here (at least I hope I’m not alone in this) who appreciate all the hard work it took to create the show. Thanks for sticking with it as long as you did. It’s unfortunate that life got in the way of doing something that you enjoyed. I hope the situation that threw a monkey wrench into your life resolves for the better.
Hear hear Polygon! I’m with you on this one.
Was great to hear you guys together again. Cool to see that life has moved on and peace can reign. All the best to you both.
This was lovely to hear. I’m glad the water is under the proverbial bridge for the two of you.
And as much as I’m sad that GBN is no more I will always be grateful for what I got.
Like Polygon said, to receive hate mail over this seems so very petty and particularly nasty.
I don’t think I quite understood how special a thing Geek By Night was to a lot of people while I was on the team and now in hindsight I see how lucky I was to be a part of something so postive. I had a blast working on Geek By Night and I look forward to working with Scott in the future, should that be in the cards.
I didn’t actually listen to all of this episode, just because I’m looking forward to when GbN is wrapped up in whatever format that you decide to take Scott.
That said, it was great to get a little deeper insight into the behind the scenes of my favorite show.
Scott, I sincerely hope that the messages I left on this site were no thought to be HATE oriented. I have lot’s of respect for the work you did, and really enjoyed what we got of GbN.
Thanks for putting this out.
