An invitation to play Halo
Monday, September 21st, 2009
We’ve discussed several times before on the site about getting together and playing some games online. So I’m throwing out an invitation to everyone that is interested. On Tuesday, I’ll be throwing a Halo Play Day. I’ve taken the day off in honor of Halo 3 ODST, and I plan on playing multiplayer for a good majority of the day. If you have Halo 3 or Halo ODST, add Saberj to your friend’s list. For more details, keep reading.
Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST share the same multiplayer. So if you have either of the two, you can join in. What we play will be determined by how many people we have, and what they have access to play. There are several map packs, as well as ODST’s exclusive Firefight mode. But if you are missing any of those, we can accomodate that. If you are up for playing tomorrow (Tuesday, 9/22/09), drop me a message on Xbox Live, so I can get an idea of how many people will be playing, and at what times.

We’ve been meaning to get a bunch of site people together to play. So by all means, join me on Tuesday. Halo 3 OR ODST is required, not both.
I’d love to get some custom game types going if anyone has any that they really enjoy. Grifball, Rocket Races, Zombies…whatever. It’s all good.
You can bring your friends along as well. This is all for fun, so it doesn’t matter if you suck or if you’re awesome. We’ll try and balance the teams as best as we can. You don’t even have to voice chat, if that’s your thing.
I’d be up for playing some Halo 3 tomorrow. I only have plain old Halo 3 with no extra maps or anything. I usually play online most evenings, usually starting somewhere between 6-8pm EST (depending on how early I get off work/eat dinner and such). I am usually on until about midnight or so.
I think I’ve added just about everybody from Geekshow that has shared their gamertags previously, but if you’d like to add me, my tag is “PolygonWizard”. Just be sure to send me a message saying you’re from Geekshow so I know who you are (leaving a message here is also good).
For no reason in particular, I’d like to clarify that when I say that I usually play online in the evenings, it isn’t playing Halo 3. In fact, I have yet to actually play it online. The only multiplayer Halo that I’ve played is system link with a bunch of guys in the same room. I should have said “play games online”.
Dang, wish I had Either of those games.
So Randy, how did the midnight launch go for you? You were planning to go right?
Got started shortly after 12:15. We finished almost 6 exactly after that. It was a Legendary run, so we wouldn’t have to try and do that again later. Lot’s of fun, but I was extremely tired by the time we finished.
I’m in for this. Just got to get through PHIL 240.
Looks like the people that have committed so far are mostly in for the 7pm-midnight est time frame. Wayne may actually show up as well. Or so he says. I’d say that we probably have about 6 people showing up as of right now. Maybe a couple extras, but they will be coming in at different times due to time zones. So your friends are welcome.
ill be there… i only have Randy’s gamertag added so I’ll have to look for him
I just sent you a friend request.
awesome. Oh i picked up the red faction game you were talking about and it is wicked fun.
If you ever want to jump into the Red Faction multiplayer, I’d be more than happy to play with you. It takes a little bit to get used to not having the sprint button, but the various backpacks more than make up for it.
I had a lot of fun playing Halo with you guys last night. I haven’t played it a whole lot outside of LAN parties, so it was a nice change of pace. It took me a bit to get into the Halo mindset (and button layout!), but I still had a lot of fun despite sucking in most of the matches.
If you guys want to play Halo again sometime (or another game), I would totally be up for it.
yeah it was fun…even though i was only there for about a half hour. I found out how different halo is from cod 4.
Was fun, despite my almost complete lack of talent at Halo Multiplayer.
Hey, I have a question.
I’m about to buy a ps3 slim,
but I still have a regular widescreen tv (not hd).
Will this cause any trouble?
That shouldn’t cause any trouble. You won’t be seeing everything at the highest possible resolution, but you should still be ale to hook it up.
