Evil Dead: The Musical: The Movie… In 3-D!!!
Monday, September 8th, 2008
Producer Don Carmody is in negotiations with director Sam Raimi to bring the Canadian originated, off-Broadway production Evil Dead: The Musical to the big screen. In 3-D!
Original directors Bond and choreographer Hinton Battle are lined up to co-direct the film version. Carmody says he hopes to shoot the film in the spring of next year in Toronto with some of the original cast. However, he adds, serious rights issues still need to be resolved.
Featuring songs such as “What the F**k Was That?” and “Do the Necronomicon”, the stage version also featured a blood-soaked front row section known as the “splatter zone”.
The 3-D version will provide similar results, without the mess.

Oh awesome, I’ve just chose to study this for my performance study a level at college, if this was the long rumoured remake I wouldn’t mind anymore
I would love to see a movie version of this. If they could get Bruce Campbell to sing, that would make it even more awesome, but sadly I doubt he’ll be involved.
On this site we all remember that Hinton Battle was the Demon in the beloved “Once More with Feeling” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He has said in interviews that after a 20 years of broadway success, more people know him for hat role than any of his other work.
